MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 5 — The clergyman seeking to become the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church has been cleared of 11th-hour allegations, church sources have confirmed, NBC News’ Jim Avila reported Tuesday afternoon. The vote by bishops to confirm the elevation of the Rev. V. Gene Robinson, which had been postponed Monday for an investigation into the surprise allegations, was rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

The trouble is the hundreds of millions of YOUR dollars the corrupt and perverted old men running the RCC in the US are using to pay off the perverts and pederasts that have raped & pillaged & plundered the innocence of children all across the country.

When I was a little kid, I was worried about having someone apply a half or full Nelson on me. Today’s’ kids have to worry about having a Father Nelson applied to them.

That's all well and good. But what are they going to DO about it. Time for actions not words.

Don't feel so bad. At least this guy is out in the open about being gay. I am catholic and we just recently found out about these priests and the horrible things they did. All kept secret and swept under the rug for years. That is worse than this. At least in my opinion.

If the election hasn't occurred yet, then how can he be a Bishop-Elect?

Bad news. The Episcopal church in Africa is opposed to this confirmation and is threatening to leave as well.

More, church attendance in the UK is so low that they are having many problems and don't know what to do now.

Along with all the other changes, the church I grew up in certainly no longer exists. The Episcopal church today is nothing more than a feel-good place where people can pretend to be religious.

They are dreaming. This guy will never be cleared, just like any accused Roman priest will never be cleared.

Their reputations are vitually ruined.

**BTW, since I'm 3rd generation cradle Episcopalian, how DOES one correctly make contact preparatory to a conversion? Phone or letter? Should we visit around local parishes first? Can we expect to go into an RCIA class, or as "high" Anglo-Catholics is it a matter of making confession/reception into the communion?**

Contact the Catholic Churches around you. Go in and talk to the priest of deacon. Check them out for the Sunday services. When you find one you feel confortable with, then sign up for the RCIA classes.

God bless you in your journey.

**I am considering/discussing the possibility of starting a Reformed Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs.**

What would the difference be between Reformed and regular?

The speed of the result makes me feel like the result was preordained. (Ouch...I know. That's a bad one).

The past Supreme Court decision on sodomy and the attacks Sen. Rick Santorum received for stating the obvious did stimulate my aggression concerning these issues. Where I used to generally leave the issue of homosexuality alone to die on the vine, I realize these people are not going to be satisfied until they force their belief system on all of us, and I'm not willing to do that.

Well said and I agree with your sentiments. . .

Extremism carried in the 'innocuous'/poisonous politcal correctness has reached a high water mark.

The wisdom of 'don't push the river'; does not apply here and we may find ourselves drowning soon if we don't. . .

Agree too, with your assesment of Vickie Gene Robinson; what a pathetic excuse of 'spiritual committment' from Episcopal Clergy. . .

What she 'parsed', was no more than a political agenda.

So do you think the ECUSA has paid off people too?

Are you someone in the church? I mean like an official?

No, I am a retired Army Chaplain, and have been looking to leave my own denomination, the Un-American Baptists. I was raised in ECUSA as a child, but left many years ago after getting saved. But I love the liturgy, and even more, I love the people that have been abandoned by ECUSA - the people in the pews that simply want to love God and serve Him.

Therefore, I have been talking with their Bishop responsible for church growth.

that said, the REC is a great, growing denomination. And they have been doing their thing since 1869. They have taken a lot of abuse over the years from the ECUSA, but many are now recognizing they were probably right all along.

BTW - there is only one church in Colorado of their denomination, and it is about 5 or 6 hours away.

Well well, a 21 hour thorough investigation, huh? Geez, if you sneezed you would have missed this scandal altogether.

I knew the fix was in when CNN reported at the top of the hour that this creep was being investigated for "innappropriate professional gestures to another man."

Come again? No mention of links to a child porn front site for 'Gay Christians" masquerading as "outreach"?

Well, so be it. Now the homosexuals can celebrate tonight in style. Below is how they tackle STOPAIDS! Yeah, right. Maybe some flossy insights! and bling bling boys!.

I can guess what "JOTO" means...but I don't want to even think about it.

I thought AME was independent; doctrinally Methodist, Episcopal structure (Bishops), but no organizational connection with either. Is this wrong? I just read it on the AME website.
