What makes me really flummoxed is that the San Francisco Chronicle -- the largest selling newspaper in Northern California, no less -- thinks that there is nothing wrong in printing this type of ranting.

This is not journalism, editorial writing (Mark Steyn, Charles Krauthammer, Ann Coulter)... this is 9th grade gay-locker room trash talking. The San Francisco Chronicle ought to be ashamed of themselves... (but they are not, because the editors probably agree with ole Marky boy)

As a former hippie and reformed left-wing radical, I must say I was mildly amused by this. I could have written it myself abot 30 years ago.

It's a shame this guy wasn't in the Woodstock generation. Then, the culture would have cared about his lunatic rantings. Today, he's just a rehashed bore spouting the failed ideology of the generation that came before him.

There's a reason there are no more communes, or naked people running around parks, or free concerts, or whatever. It all failed due to the simple fact that the one constant in this world is greed.

Like my generation in the 60's and 70's, for all intents and puposes, this guy is doing nothing more than masturbating in public. I'm sure he's having fun, but it isn't amounting to much. He'll be a lot more productive once he uses his intelligence to harness greed and utilize it to the benefit of himself and society, as opposed to howling at the moon.

Nonetheless, it was nostalgic to see this particular coyote's silhouette against the back drop of the bella luna. Ah, to be an innocent dead head again.

I used to get steamed by Morford's rantings, and then later they were amusing, based on their rambling explosions of crap.

Lately, though, out of genuine human compassion, I am no longer amused. I'm truly concerned about his instability, and wonder if he's going to have a "Cunanan Moment".

Good analysis, but I think what REALLY has Miss Morford's silk panties all in a twist is this:

He has an unspoken lust for Dubya, and the Prez, being the straight, Christian man he is, won't pay him any attention.
