He came and saw us out in the boonies when no one else would.

He brought us laughter and smiles...and some really pretty women, too.

He was always on our side, even when no one else was.

There was never anyone else like him. He will be missed.

Sad news, he was a real role model who never disappointed. All you can take with you from this life is your good works and reputation, he leaves here a wealthy man.

Maybe I'm stepping out on a limb here, but I can't think of a more deserving person for a full honors burial at Arlington as Bob Hope

I'm not in the military, but I can't imagine anyone who's served who would not agree, especially if they were one of the lucky ones to have benefited from a live show.

I would certainly agree that Hope ought to be honored with burial at Arlington, but having never served in the military myself, I don't think it's my place to say.

I just found out Bob was born in England.

His family immigrated here in the early 1900's.

Thanks for the fine memories Bob!

sad to see the great men of my youth slowly leaving us... sadder because those that are replacing the void are less than a shadow of the original man.

Although born in England, he loved America and voluntarily placed himself in dangerous situations in order to bring a little slice of home to our troops on the battlefield. I hope the President orders flags to be hung at half mast in honor of this great patriot.

Thanks for the memories, Bob. Rest in peace. You've earned it.

"'Bob Hope is Dead'" says it all for me.

I hope Tony Blair will come to his funeral.

I saw he and his show on the flight deck of the USS Midway CVA-41 in Dec 1972 in Singapore. It was a taste of home after nine hard months on Yankee Station ... he will be missed
