President Bush, flanked by Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. Richard B. Myers, and U.S. Administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, spoke this morning in the White House Rose Garden regarding the killing of the monstrous sons of Saddam Hussein, Uday and Qusay yesterday, and the positive effect it would have on the Iraqi people, and citing the great progress that has been made by the Coalition Forces in Iraq.
Later in the morning he welcomed former President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, and Argentine President Nestor Kirchner in the Oval Office. He also found time to honor the Presidential Medal of Honor recipients in the East Room, including Vaclav Havel, Van Cliburn, John Wooden, Roberto Clemente, Dave Thomas and Charleston Heston.
There are lots of pictures today, so enjoy your ample Daily Dose of Dubya!!

He's had a pretty good turnout, and lots of interest, and he's already had the privilege of leading one young man to the Lord! Thanks for the update on Eric, what a fine young man you raised there

That really makes me mad....they keep referring to it as a "republican" recall, when in actuality, it began as grassroots. The big republicans didn't jump in until it was a sure thing.

I know I have a Pollyanna approach to a lot of things, but I really think this one's going to blow up in their faces.

OWF, thank you so much. Great pictures tonight. Inspectorette, I have the same memories of Charlton Heston. The man was a major hunk in his younger days, not to mention he's always been an exemplary human being. The change in his appearance since he made his Alzheimer's announcement is sad.

Thank you. Dad wasn't perfect, but who is? He was a hard-working, responsible person who cared deeply for his family. Worked two jobs during most of my childhood. Never wealthy but saved sensibly so mom can now live comfortably. He sounds perfect to me .. he took care and loved you both

". . . being a leader means choosing your battles wisely and setting aside partisanship when you can do so without compromising your personal values and when doing so is what it takes to move your vision forward. But what I failed to say in that other post is that I also believe that our president is not -- and will not become -- somebody who deviates from what he believes is best for our nation. I believe he'll remain steadfast regarding Iraq and our continued war on terrorism."
I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly. As Anne Coulter surmised yesterday (as a substitute host for Mike Gallagher), president's must necessarily focus their energies on a few objectives/issues and President Bush has decided to focus his energies on
TERRORISM
TAXES and
JUDGES
I think this should become our campaign slogan (particularly here on FR): Terrorism, Taxes and Judges!
