But NYC has some of the strictiest gun laws in the nation this is not possible. Beat me to it. Makes the line "If guns are outlawed (in NYC) only outlaws will have guns (in NYC)." ring true.

Was there a particular reason there were reporters there? Was a press conference in progress? There is a press room at City Hall, and the local media have reporters assigned to covering local government. So there are probably always some reporters in City hall during regualr business hours in case something comes up.

The nicotine deprivation defense. Yep, it's only a matter of time.

Was there a particular reason there were reporters there? Being the NYC City Hall, I assume that there are always some reporters hanging around...

Is the gunman's name Mohammed?

I should use a spell checker but I often do not because of other things running and my desire sto simply post. The worst errors are when I put down something spelled right but otherwise wrong becuase I wrote say yards instead of feet.

You can best believe that NYPD SWAT is world class, none better, and that they have rehearsed this scenario many times. Expect a dead perp shortly.

MSNBC is reporting the police officers in riot gear were seen running across the plaza IF(!!!!) true, it means the police were responding to something that was already happening, as opposed to it being a sudden outburst.

"But NYC has some of the strictiest gun laws in the nation this is not possible."Watch, this will be a springboard for reissuing and strengthening the AW ban and for extending the gun laws in NY. Liberals will be forever blaming the object, rather than the user. They'll ignore what could have been done by a responsible CCW permit holder in this situation. ~sigh~ They are what they are.
