Fox was interviewing Councilman McMahon from Statin Island that witnessed the incident and said it was NOT a random act. He thought the shooter was specifically targeting someone. I assume "someone" is Councilman Davis.

Davis's friend, who made the statement, refered to Davis in the past tense.

WABC reports that a city councilman says that Davis was shot by his opponent in an upcoming election.

That is a stupid way to try to win an election.

I know that every day when I go home on the LIRR, I wonder if some jack assed terrorist or wannabe will try and blow up one of the tunnels or bridges.

Why would you think it was terrorism? A terrorist wouldn't have shot just a single relatively unkown(nationally) politician, when he had an entire city council as potential targets within easy range. No, right now it sounds like simply a political assassination. So Bloomberg's statement that it is not terrorism is not only reasonable, but wise given the NYC post-9/11 context and manhunt taking place. His off-the-cuff melodramatic "This is an attack on all Americans" statement is perhaps more worthy of criticism.
