W's war rationale is looking a bit iffy

Is President Bush the Iraq war's "useful idiot"? The phrase was coined by Vladimir Lenin to refer to Communist sympathizers who believed what they were told - and what they were told was mostly lies. It could be somewhat the same with Bush. He may well be the last person to believe the Iraq war was waged virtually in self-defense. He believes that dictator Saddam Hussein was on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons, and other weapons of mass destruction, and was linked to Osama Bin Laden.

Here is how it goes: Bush, Blair, Rice, Powell, Cheney, Rummy, & 6 Intell agencies from all over the world, decide to lie about Saddams weapons, so they could go into Iraq, and......we would find out they lied!

Simple.

And since they all have reputations for being mendacious, devious, sinster, murders, tyrants, & and of course Blair and Bush regularly torture people. We can never believe that they are honestly trying to fight 2 wars since 9/11.

Of course we must believe Saddam, remember he TOLD us he hated Osama, had no WMD or programs, and had no desire to build nukes.

After all, Saddams reputation is spotless.

Your link to Fox News is a discussion of the danger that the Iraqis were working on drones to spread chemical agents.

Here's a hint: they were.

No one in that article says "imminent" (which means any moment) but rather "could" and "possible" and phrases like that.

It is not President Bush's fault that you apparently listened to speeches and read news reports and acted like Henny Penny. What President Bush said, and what is policy is, is to stop these programs BEFORE they become an imminent threat. That is what the speech about pre-emption at West Point was all about.

I am bookmarking your paragraph about even if they had all of these weapons, you still wouldn't consider the threat imminent. That is absolutely the most ridiculous thing you have posted. I will use it against you at every opportunity.

So we went to war because Iraq could, maybe, in the future, sometime, be a threat to us? Bush and his minions sold the war as an immenant threat to us. What was Powell talking about? Keep parsing "grave" and "immenant". I can't count the times Freepers told me to shut up or else a "mushroom" cloud would envelope New York- I guess that was going to happen soon once they dug up the rose bush with a few parts to a centrifuge.

It is amazing to me that you refuse to understand that they were working on WMD, and we didn't WANT them to get to the point where they WERE an imminent threat.

Everyone who was pro war on this site a few months ago was waving "evidence" of Drones that could drop anthrax on our cities within hours and how Sadaam was within months of devolping a suitcase nuke. Please show me where anyone from the administration talked about suitcase nukes. They didn't.
