My uncle was a Lt. Colonel in the Marines, before he retired early this year. That was exactly the same thing he told my brother and myself when we visited him last summer at Camp Lejeune.

Yeah, my best friend became a Army Specialist because of his degree. He'll be in Baghdad in 4 weeks (5th Corp artillery). He said the difference is that specialists can choose between the lawnmower and the weed whacker and the privates choose what's left.

To the left, cynical criticism is considered true patriotism. Those of us who profess love of country and support for our troops are mere flag-waving phonies.

WH Press Secretary issues No Comment concerning raid at this time!

Why would these brothers be so foolish as to hide out at a cousin's house? I find that rather amazing. I would assume they wouldn't have wanted to be found.

Nah, buy a bottle for the defeat of each and every one of them.
Now, that's a good thing. :)

I don't know about anyone watching Fox News, but I was disappointed that they cut away from Steve Centani's interview of the General on the scene in Mosul to go to the WH press conference.

Except for the private Rumsfeld briefing, all of that has already been out in the open for a couple hours.

WABC reporting they have been visually identified as the sons, bodies intact but shot up. Seems they want to check DNA and rule out body doubles.
To: Politico2
From the NBC news computers:
US officials tell NBC News the raid on the house near Mosul was based on intelligence that Uday and Qusay were there. The officials also say that two of the four dead "certainly look like Uday and Qusay."
According to the officials, it will probably take DNA testing to positively identify the two because "they were pretty badly shot up."
The DNA testing would be conducted back here in the United States, and could "take weeks."
The US government does have Saddam DNA on file.

Because there were no vacancies at the Holiday Inn Express

HOHOHO LOL, Is Katie going to interview the spouses of tortured and killed husbands and ask them how they feel about the american raid, tomorrow morning? HAHAHAHA HOHOHO, and about how hard it's been raising the CHILDREN (tm) since daddy went to Oday's prison? LOLOLOL, oh stop it!...yer killin me...
To: mass55th
That was a judgement call, based on part that there were rumors that actual news would come out of the White House. In hindsight, you're correct that they should have stuck with Centanni, but hindsight's always better than foresight.
