We just got word that my wife's father has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and lungs. Pray for him, he is still unsaved.
Prayed for him. I didn't know about the reality of hell until I knew I wasn't going there.
Heavenly Father, we join our hearts in prayer that you might have mercy and allow Irishtenor's father in law to understand the simple gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, totallay apart from works. May he come to receive our Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior before it is everlastingly too late. Please soften his heart and make him receptive to the gospel. We ask this in the wonderful name of Jesus, amen.

The MOST important thing is that you are relying on Jesus to cleanse you from your sins. Look to him as your savior. Trust Jesus and believe he is the Son of God. The 5 points, the other doctrinal statements, are used to define that which you believe in the Bible. If you are a NEW Christian, or still an unbeliever, all you need to know is "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so".
