You have read the 1st Amendment? You want to shut down a newspaper because you don't like what was printed? LOL. That's about as un-American as you can get, isn't it?

The first amendment does not include threats and or harrassment. Shut it down with a boycott!

NO, telling someone that they can't voice their opinion about a newspaper is about as un-American as you can get.

You are the one who needs to review the 1st amendment. It does not protect all speech!

Freedom of Speech stops when you yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater. An individual who would write that, even in jest, would get an automatic 5 years. I think slamming the cartoonist, the editors who approved the cartoon, and the owner of the paper with 3 to 5, each, might serve to put people on notice that the Secret Service is entirely without a sense of humor.
Just as a rule of thumb, don't point a gun at the Pres. It seems simple enough, but dims are sort of simple...

Problem is, I read it to support the assassination of the POTUS. Is that legal and proper? I suspect this might just be reason to investigate the bejesus out of him.
Wanna bet the cartoonist has had a very loud, very one soded conversation from the Sec. Svc. I just betcha he will be watching his ass in the future.
Now, if it was klinton, I just might alter my views.

The question is when does supposed humor go beyond the pale of the Free Press? I really don't know; but this is very offensive and somewhat threatening. Does "Free Press" cover an oblique threat to the President, a judge, politician, etc.? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh wait, your right. Proposing the assasination of our president, could in no way be confused with yelling fire in a crowded theather.

Go yell fire in a crowded theater and then explain to the judge at your arraignment you were exercising your first amendment rights. Then get back to me about the limitations on that right.

Foolish remark. The threat of assasination to the President is a criminal offense. There is no need for you to hide behind the First Amendment. A portrayal of the President's assasination is of serious concern and the author will likely be given a stern warning.
