Earlier in this thread or one like it someone else posted something along the lines of - the cartoon would have been more effective (and biting) if the word 'Politics' was replaced by the word 'democrats' and the shooter was holding a banana instead of a gun.

If you don't like condescension, try skipping it, instead of personifying it. You want to play daddy to the nation, deigning that because you don't like it no one should see it. Because you 'don't like' something you want to ban it and cry for Ramirez's head on a platter. I'll eagerly await you lining up to hang Rush and others the Rats don't like. It's only fair.

God forbid you should actually think about the repercussions of your self-righteous posting, that someone who actually is making a political point in your favor get fired and replaced by another lib, that another conservative voice is silenced because you and Drudge are simply too stupid to stomach an incisive illustration of just how evil the Rats and media are in their attempt to get Bush no matter what. You prefer to see what's nice to what's real, further evidence y'all should stick to Disney movies and get out of political discussions.

My take on it is that Ramirez didn't want to come right out and say "democrats", he wanted us to fill in that blank. I see an inference. I do not think Ramirez would draw a cartoon suggesting assasination might result from anything. I see this as a metaphor regarding his administration and what Democrats are trying to do to it.

As I page back through these posts, I didn't say Ramirez was conservative or liberal. I think he made an error in judgment.

My comment in a separate statement about leftys followed my comment about Ramirez. The lefty attacks against Bush are going to get much worse. What will Ramirez draw next in that regard? Bush getting nuked?

Wheels within wheels my friend, and now the interpretation is in the eye of the beholder.

Frankly I was shocked when I first saw the cartoon, and shocked even more when I realized the picture it was spoofing. Knowing the original story behind the war photo, it seems to me the good guy is holding the gun. I think the cartoon is in poor taste.

That said, I like your interpretation better and hope it is the true meaning behind the cartoon.

The word Politics on the back of the gunman sit my thoughts in motion in view of the incredible media blitz regarding the "Iraq sought uranium in Africa " statement in the State of the Union Speech by President Bush.

I see the Democrats via the Media assinating an innocent President for no other reason than Politics!!!!!

Yes, he lays out his argument in an orderly fashion and presses it with conviction.

In a light vein: I am reminded of a Judge in Riverside who patiently listened to an attorney during law and motion while the lawyer advanced an empassioned explanation of why the facts and law should enure to his client's benefit. At the end, Judge M- nodded and said "That's all well and good counsel, but no matter how thin you slice it, it is still baloney."

I retract my previous posts. I saw the cartoon; I saw that it was in the LA Times, known to be hostile to conservative interests.

I'm pretty familiar with Ramirez, and I'm pretty sure that his 'toon wasn't meant as a Left-wing attack on Bush.

I thought this kind of stuff was against the law? Why do I have the feeling that if I had drawn that picture and put it in our local paper, the 'men in black' would be knocking at my door, going through my computer etc. This paper and the cartoonist and especially the editor that allowed it should have to answer for this.
