Freeper Travis McGee, has finished his much anticipated novel, Enemies Foreign and Domestic, and it has been sent off to print. His web site indicates it will be shipping in 3-4 weeks.
He has 20 chapters of the book available online as excerpts, so you can get a real good feel of the book right there on the web site before ever ordering it.
My own review of the book, which I have been privileged to read in its entirety, is as follows...
Enemies Foreign & Domestic is as compelling a fictional novel about liberty and the 2nd amendment as you will ever read. It is packed with real life issues right off today's headlines and the political camps on both sides of the issue. It is also just a good, old-fasioned barnstorming novel that you can't put down. In his first at bat, Matthew Bracken has hit one out of the park.Let's all congratulate Freeper Travis McGee on a job very well done...and consider getting one of his books. We have another Freeper Author in our midst and I am sure his novel is going to be picked up and taken nationally by someone. It's simply too good a read for it to be any other way, and it sends all the right messages.
And Jeff, how did you get your book on Amazon?
Can Travis get his book listed also, or must he sell some first?
Aspiring authors want to know.
Also, meet Cathryn. She does ok, but has a ways to go.
I FEEL so left out!!
;<)
Congrats brother and I want at least one of the first 100!!

PS: If I don't like the inscription can I keep buying more copies until I get one that I like?? Kinda like fortune cookies!
Once again, congrats!!
As I am only a lowly columnist, I must depend on the kindness of others to publish me. My archives at TWD are here, and here is my blog.
I've also been published at OpEds.com, The Rant, and several other various and sundry places.

Gee, thanks, patton. I do all right, considering. :-)
Coop, Jeff Head (see previous) is one of the patriots of Klamath. Book one of his series is on my desk.
Travis just wrote a book - he is BUDS, and has promised me a copy to arrive soon.
Cathryn is an author for Wahington Review (uh, I hope I got that right), and does some pretty good articles.
And never show Squantos that picture on my wall of the two EOD guys with the paper bag - he is real sensative about that.
While I wait for Unintended Consequences II.
Well, ok, must of us don't much like abortion, either.
I use a company called LightningSource for distribution...and they required I have a publisher, wouldn;t take it directly from the author...so I created my own publisher. You have to get an ISBN number...and they cost and are not cheap. You have to buy those numbers from the single controlling agency here in the United States in quantities of ten.
Then, I wrote it in MSWord, bought and learned the full Adobe software top produce PDF's for press and for Ebooks. Learned how to format for both. Also learned how to format for MSReader and got that software.
Then, once the books are finished, I format them properly, send them to LightningSource and they go from there.
Interesting process and not your traditional big-publishing. Ten years ago it could not have happened. it's allowed me to sell quite a few books all across America, and even a few dozen over seas without having to lay down all the money and get involved with all the traditional infrastructure and process historically required to do that.
...don't get me wrong, if a traditional publisher came along and offered a decent contract, I would probably take it. But the hoops you have to jump through for agents and publishers make it prohibitive time wise and not very likely. So, I just did it myself to get it out there in front of people.
This is boat weather.....what you doing on the puter ???
Stay Safe !
When I constantly bugged Travis for a review copy of his book all I got was a "Cease and Desist" notice from a guy named Guido who also knee-capped me with a #21 cue stick!!!
I am walking better but my politeness hasn't worn off yet! Oh, I meant Mr. McGee, not Travis, and would have change it but I had already clicked the "post" button!
