NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.
The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

'This reflects very poorly on conservatives, and I hope FR will have the decency to set some standards similar to that of MSNBC's.'
Me too. It'll be great when FR becomes another salon.com or democratunderground and therefore irrelevant if it ever imposes YOUR standards.

Why would I stand behind a person who openly roots for long, slow, painful deaths of human beings? If you're supporting the gay lifestyle, that's exactly what you're doing. More plagues, more disease, more drug overdoses, more suicides......and they're trying to take Americas kids with them.

"Savage ain't the brightest bulb."That says it all. I read the book and wasn't very impressed. He's got a very big ego, and while so does Rush, Savage doesn't have the brains (like Rush) to back it up. I think he's rather crass.

What the hell is your problem?
Like a kid with spitballs, you do nothing but take shots at Republican politicians.
Of course, this thread is not about Republican politicians, but you just keep dragging out names and making snide comments.
Why don't you tell us who your model politician is. IOW, can you post one positive thing in your miserable life?

You really believe he meant what he said? If I tell you right now to drop dead would you think for a second I would really wish you would DIE?
Are you that shallow? Or is this the best you can do in this thread?

But you're a third-rate, cone-head that I can play ring toss with, NOT an original mind, and a rational, logical thinker like the great Michael Savage.666beast, the Einstein of freerepublic....

You and I seem to be the only two voices here, in support of Savage.
Hey! I support Savage! If he said he thought he was off-air that works for me. Besides, it's just some queer anyway. Who's only goal was to get the kind of reponse out of Savage he did. Well, well, the queers just got another conservative. They must be celebrating.
As I've posted before. I've met a lot of queer folks. They are a mess. I really don't care what they do out-of-site to each other. Al I ask is that they not insist that their sexual lifestyle be paraded in public. That's not too much to ask. Is it? They are a super minority and I'd prefer they go suck and pack in the privacy of their home with the understanding that people like me will never agree that they are normal. Not gunna doit! Wouldn't be prudent! I know better.

What, there's no in between? Either we behave like disgusting, uncivilized pigs, or we support homosexuality? Find a happy medium, dude -- one day you might actually become a decent human being yourself.

I LOVE Michael Savage...and I disagree with him on a lot of things. The reason: he is unpredictable. You don't get a sense that he is doing his show based on talking points from any party or candidate. YES he is all over the place politically...and that is refreshing. He is less a propagandist and electronic radio campaign manager than a person with very firm beliefs. He's a breath of fresh air. I have to admit I turn off the other ones most of the time because I know what they're going to say before they say it and how they're going to say it. Savage keeps me guessing.
BIG mistake for MSNBC which is now homogenizing its programming.

Choking on sausage isn't a "long, slow" death. It's quick (under 5 minutes even).
Doesn't mean that he was actually speaking out that the guy should die.

Michael, we wish you luck with your new job haranguing passersby with your bullhorn on 5th and Market. Michael, you're in such huge demand, we want you back. We're begging you!
Signed, MSNBC.

Exactly. I'm hoping it sends his ratings soaring.
I'm hoping Fox picks up Savage's show and puts him on the air.
His radio show has already moved from #4 to #3 in the last ratings stuff I saw. He's right behind Hannity and Rush.
Thank God.
I'll keep listening. I love his show. I look forward to it every day. He says what most of us think but don't have a microphone to say. He comes up with great assaults on the left, and launches into personal stories that make me laugh like crazy.

Gee, another person who can't make a disinction between acting marginally civilized and supporting homosexuality...
Jim, I invite you to in here: Would you make the same remarks Savage did? And, if so, would you expect any decent person to associate himself with this place?

Is Michael Bloomberg a conservative?
Was he a Democrat prior to running for mayor as a Republican?
It doesn't mean that he wasn't the lesser of two evils but it also doesn't mean that he's a Republican to hold up an idolize.
