Howlers in the discredited New York Times
The New York Times | July 6, 2003 | James Traub

Posted on 07/06/2003 1:52:20 PM PDT by Creightongrad

"The Democrats have NEVER sought to discredit Bush's presidency." (emphasis added)

"Could it be that the Democrats are constitutionally incapble of acting as single-mindedly - as ruthlessly, as unfairly - as the Republicans?"

"There are Democrats who would like the party to get down off its moral pedestal and start fighting dirty, or at least dirtier."

"The Democrats are essentially devoted to tempering the harm caused by the Bush adminstration [What harm???], which is not much of an agenda at all, though it certainly makes a virtue of moderation. Ruthlessness is just not in the party's DNA."

We know plenty about the DNA of the 42nd President.

I guess Mr. Traub never met the Clintons.

No, the Democrats would never fight dirty. Just ask Robert Bork. Or Clarence Thomas. No, with upright spokesmen like James Carville, Sid Blumenthal, Larry Flynt and Michael Moore, they can only respond with polite, well-reasoned rejoinders to the nasty tricks of people like Bill Frist and Dennis Hastert.

One wonders where all of the **good** liars for the Democrats have gone.

Taub vertainly isn't one of them.

After all, how ruthless and unfair was it when Republican Trent Lott agreed to "share power" with the Democrats in the equally divided 50-50 Senate back in 2001?

Ahhh, the facts are such inconvenient things for Democrats and their media apologists...

I should clarify that this appeared in the Sunday Magazine section and not the body of the paper.

But since the NYT doesn't care about accuracy and the distinction between reporting and editorial, why should we?

Taminy Hall merely moved into the executive suites at the NY Times.

The same bias and Democratic Party corruption still exists there.

I've been 98% NYT-free now, for about four weeks, and am none the worse for it. At all.

I then read Frank Rich and he calls our President "the costumed President" and makes a snide reference to "Top Gun" and the allegedly imperial nature of the Iraq war. Pure bitterness.
