Chechnya is an open sore for Russia still. Maybe it has to be because they have a land connection with that country. Iraq may become an open sore for the US. But it never had to be and we can hardly claim the same national security issues that Russia can in Chechnya. Time to declare victory - call some Iraqi "president" and pull out.

One possible outcome is that Russia, China and the US all come to a gentlemen's agreement not to criticize one another while they take all necessary measures to deal with their respective Muslim problems.

Very wishful thinking. The Islamists and secular Muslim dictators are mere pawns in the great-power struggle between the US, Russia and China.

"Barely a day on this Earth goes by where some Islamic extremists do not murder at least a few civilians."

This being the case, it makes me wonder why you bother calling them "Islamic extremists" and not just Islamists? "Islamic extremists" indicates they are a small minority, but daily suicide bombings over a protracted period of time indicates otherwise. This so-called 'minority' keeps getting replaced by other extremists when they kill themselves, which means that extremism is at the core of Islam. Islam equals extremism. Isn't it time yet to drop the pc editing and call a spade a spade?

That is a nice idea...in a nicer world...But are you serious?

You honestly don't know how involved Russia was in arming Iraq? China? Iraq was the false flag. Iraq is not 'the war'. Iraq is the beginning.

It will take a long time and more 9-11s before we come to grips with the enemy in a way that will produce results.

I agree, but have the most minor of quibbles with you: Membership in groups like al-Qaeda or the Fedayeen the cult of islam should be declared to be an offence punishable by death- and should always be punished in this fashion. There, much better.

Barely a day on this Earth goes by where some Islamic extremists do not murder at least a few civilians. There is a reason for this: the Islamists have discovered the terror works because the leaders in most of the West are too irresolute to fully comprehend the fact that terror can only be fought with terror.

Isn't it remarkable how an otherwise advanced society composed mostly of intelligent rational people can be incapable of making the simple distinction between "means" and "ends"?

By many (most?) the Constitution is assumed to be the "ends" these days; The welfare and continued existence of its citizens and their society has always the obvious "ends" to me.

Isn't what you're suggesting the very thing that Saddam Hussein did to *his* enemies?

Isn't it what Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, or Idi Amin did?

Kill them all, and let God sort it out. < /sarcasm >

Michael Savage has said, "Only a more savage nation can survive".

Netanyaho said,"We [ the West ] have the means & they have the will-the question is, when do we discover our will [ to survive ]?"
