Dear Freeper Friends: Please pray for my husband. He has a tender swelling place just under his ribs on the right side. Xrays were inconclusive, and disclosed nothing more than an inflamed area that appeared to be on the base of the lungs. A CATscan was performed today, but we will have to wait until Monday to hear the results of this test. Please give it all you've got. He's a GOOD man.

Prayers sent for Good Joe, and for peace for your whole family during the wait. I agree with others that Joe will be allright.

It sounds like Joe has a lot going for him! 71, working hard still and in good health, a loving and caring wife, good solid heritage (Czech), and dozens of FReeper prayers being prayed for him!

Just a brief update:
No improvement, the swelling appears larger. He is, as can be expected, not feeling very well. He wants nothing but broths and clear liquids today, after feeling pretty ratty from eating everything he wanted yesterday. The doctor's office is supposed to call us Monday. So, don't let up. We are praying here, too. I am so indebted to all of you for your faithfulness in prayer.

May God hold you close now and help you and your family to go through this. I was diagnosed with lung cancer and given less than a year to live in 1998. Thanks to God, good doctors and a special diet, I'm still here. Prayers going up that the spot is benign. Also can't hurt to get a second opinion. God bless--

Dear Freeper Friends: Here's an update on Joe's condition.
He was quite exhausted yesterday, and by this morning, was having a lot of trouble breathing, so we called the hospital and told them we were coming in. When we got there, he was quite yellow, and not feeling very good at all. They did another CAT scan and found several "masses" in his liver, as well as some "acites," or fluid that has been weeping from the liver into the abdominal cavity. It doesn't sound good to me, but we won't know much more until they do some biopsies tomorrow. There is a possibility that the masses are hepatic granulomas, which are usually benign, but I don't know what the chances of that might be. We can only hope. I will keep you posted. Please keep praying. :o(

Prayers are continuing for Joe. This is such a trying time for the both of you. I'm glad you told the hospital you were going right in! Keep up being assertive. The squeaking wheel, and all that. Don't accept answers until you are satisfied. And give Joe's hand a squeeze for me.
Another thing ----I'm hoping that when something is acute, as this is, (rather than insidious) they can find the causative factor as quickly.

Joining your FReeper family in prayer ... Lord, we ask that You touch Joe in a miraculous and mighty way ... that all his readings on all the tests will be negative ... that you would bring to him and his beloved wife, the very people needed to encourage them at this time ... surround them with caregivers graced with Your wisdom and skill ... that through all, and in all, You would be glorified, in the name of Jesus, Amen ...

Sorry to hear that Joe's condition has taken such an ominous turn. I will pray tonight that the masses will turn out to be benign. I hope Joe is well-sedated and that he will be able to get a peaceful night's sleep.
