Dear Freeper Friends: Please pray for my husband. He has a tender swelling place just under his ribs on the right side. Xrays were inconclusive, and disclosed nothing more than an inflamed area that appeared to be on the base of the lungs. A CATscan was performed today, but we will have to wait until Monday to hear the results of this test. Please give it all you've got. He's a GOOD man.

I just wish I knew more about this. He hasn't smoked or had a drink in 30 years.

I don't know why these things always have to drag out over a holiday. My husband received word at 5 pm on New Years Eve that an xray showed a bone tumor. It turned out to be benign, but it took a biopsy to pin down the diagnosis, none of the other tests were conclusive.
I'll keep you in my prayers. Prayer really does work. What's your husband's name?

If the CAT Scan was preformed today they have radiologists on site typically to review the screens. If it was of an urgent nature they usually tell you within hours. It was about two hours after mine that I was admitted for emergency surgery so please rest assured it is not of an urgent nature if you have been notified.
Walking down the corridors for those tests feels like you are wearing cement boots. Remain optimistic and brave for no one else but the fear your love one is probably hiding behind some bravado to protect you.

Prayers up.
My father died on Christmas Eve day while my oldest brother was in the hospital with a massive heart attack.

My prayers are with you, I know how hard the wait for news can be.
I had a similar problem 3 years ago. My wife and I were on pins and needles for three days until the results came in.
Badly healed broken rib from my service days.... Painful at times but not life threatening.
Be of good cheer and try not to worry to much. I know it'll be hard, but there is a good chance that it may not be the worst case.
Think positive!!!
All of us here will too!!

Prayers for you and your hubby. Sometimes an inflamed area is just an inflamed area.
I had a sore spot, once, at the base of my sternum. The doc asked me how many times I'd been rubbing on it or poking at it. I told him I was worried, so I had rubbed it "a few times."
Analysis: I turned a minor inflammation into a swelling mess by rubbing on it every hour.
Again, sometimes inflammation is just inflammation.

Good News Monday bump

Thanks, all. His name is Joe. He's 71, and in robust good health. Even though he's SUPPOSED to be retired, he drives school bus, mows the lawns in our complex, and mows the railroad R.O.W. through town. He was born and raised in this area (southcentral MN), and is full-blooded Czech. He is a Godly, faithful man, dedicated to prayer and sacrificial giving.

That's my father's name and he's also 71. Holidays and weekends seem to be his assigned time to have heart attacks and other major medical events. It can be very frustrating, all the waiting that seems to get worse at such times.
May the Great Physician keep you both in His healing hands.
