Some of you out there may be assigning mythic proportions to this man, George W. Bush, much like the liberals did with Bill Clinton, assuming he's doing everything for a reason, and that in the end, he's always going to snooker the other side.

I'd be a little careful about that, folks. I don't necessarily believe that there is any strategery going on here. If this bill dies, it won't be because of a secret plan.

It will be because of principled conservatives in the House of Representatives, conservatives like Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, who went to the White House and told the president in person that he could not and would not support this bill.

Rush Limbaugh

"What good is winning the House if we're going to pass liberalism? What good is winning the House if all we're going to do is liberalism-lite? I'd just as soon go back to being in the minority and raise hell, like it was in the good old days."

I am sure it was more fun for Rush in the old days, when all he had to do was gripe about Clinton 24/7.

Apparently he isn't capable of adapting to the new situation. I hope he gets a contract with the NFL and is challenged again.

What part of "... one of the conspiracy theories evolving out there... do you not understand, or choose to ignore?

Rush prefaced his remarks for good reason: a conspiracy theory!

Hey, since you seem to be pushing what Rush says as good advice for everyone, when the election rolls around and Rush and Coulter and so forth are encouraging people to get to the polls and vote for Republicans, you are going to be leading the charge, right?

Hey showboy..... here's another great thread from today....

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush's campaign said Tuesday it has raised at least $34.2 million since he announced his 2004 re-election effort in May, with some checks still to be counted.

The Republican's total dwarfs fund-raising by his nine Democratic rivals, including Howard Dean, who racked up more than $800,000 in a daylong Web-a-thon on Monday that put him firmly among his party's money leaders as the second fund-raising quarter ended at midnight. [note no other Republican mentioned in the money chase...]

Now the question becomes who is going to win the President election in 2004, President Bush or the Democrat Candidate? It will be between on them as the two viable candidates. Money counts in who gets there and you haven't shown anyone else with any money to challenge President Bush for the Republican nomination.... huh showboy?

And some of you inject mythic proportions of lies into the truth to make it something it's not.

Stop using Rush to bolster your own opinions. You're as bad as the alleged Bushbots you accuse of not thinking for themselves. Clearly, you have been proven to twist Rush's words to fit into your cozy little attacks against Bush. Proof is here.

I don't have a problem with anyone saying Bush is wrong and using thoughtful reasoning, facts, and logic to state as such. But when you have to constantly use someone else's words as your own opinions, it makes you intellectually shallow.

Rush: "What good is winning the House if we're going to pass liberalism? What good is winning the House if all we're going to do is liberalism-lite?"

IOW, for a party that controls the Presidency, the Senate AND the Congress, the GOP seems content to play an ideological 'prevent offense'...

Mustn't jeopardize the BIG TENT seating reservations.

I agree wholeheartedly. President Bush has indicated he's anxious to receive the bill and I believe him. If it fails to make it out of conference, that will not be as a result of Bush. Rather, it'll be against his wishes.
