Recall or Revolution?

Recall or revolution?

In a joint interview we did this morning with public radio station WBUR in Boston, Davis Recall sponsor Ted Costa said the campaign is not aimed so much at the governor as the entire California political system. He especially cited the 2001 partisan gerrymander and the role of special interest money in the political process. And when Davis is gone, Costa said, the movement will focus its attention on other officials, possibly legislators. This is exactly the possibility that opponents of the recall have been warning of. I have been downplaying the likelihood of recall after recall, and I still think the public would not support the repeated use of the tool for that purpose. But I thought Costa’s comments were provocative, and worth noting.

Recall is probably the only tool that will cause the California legislature to redraw political boundries along lines that are competative.

Until and unless redistricting is accomplished California will be saddled with the collection of single issue ideologs that has driven California to financial ruin through entitlements to a host of victim classes both domestic and foreign.

I certainly hope so. Five legislators that I would like to see go are; Jackie Goldberg, Debra Bowen, John Burton, Don Perata and Jack Scott. These "lawmakers" (?) are more intent on the advancement of their personal agendas than the interests of California.

I was listening to John and Ken on KFI this evening and they were flogging on the head of the Dept of Transportation. I believe her last name is Sweet. She is also head of the CHP, and used them as her personal chauffers and gophers to a tune of 75,000 dollars. Let's get rid of her too :)

While I know that public officials will stay addicted to spending other people's money, maybe they'll think twice before acting so outrageously...

Im tellin ya'll this recall wont happen, somewhere a judge will step in and stop it. There will be no legal basis for the judge to stop it, but hey, this is California were talking about here.

A scary thought, but I doubt it will happen.

While I'll agree that leftist judges oft have the nasty habbit of extreme judicial activism, they seem to limit themselves to incremental encroachment so they can disguise it as being based on past precedence.

Being that the recall procedure can be used by either side, I do not beleive they see it as enough of a priority to put in the time and effort to subvert it.

The sitting demRats or "ducks" in the state legislatures across this nation are marching to a socialist's drum beat, and unfortunately, their cadence has quickened the last few years with the media's blessings.

We must smash their drum sets and the mindsets they embrace and take the pursestrings from these mass-socialist spending creeps as they continue to spend like there is no tomorrow ... and now, for some, tomorrow has arrived. Pink slips will mean more speeders, less CHP patrols, for starters.

To the marxists and leninist devotees in the California elected offices..Job Well Done!

We'll be looking for you in the next general election.. Just keep spending .. Your time is coming.

Of course there is the third alternative. Re-locate !!

Worked for us. Admittedly we are along in years; but even the beauty and gracious lifestyle of Coronado was outweighed by the ugliness of its transition to a tourist trap; the SoCal traffic, the frenzied, impolite pace of the new populace; and the disgusting political climate.

We finally caved; re-settled in Bullhead City and love it. Some mornings, when I drive the 7 miles on the parkway to the Laughlin Bridge and the Poker Room at the Flamingo (all of 12 minutres), I see less than a dozen cars prior to the river. And, that is just the beginning. Milk is 1.45 a gallon, just for openers. Gas is $1.47...and on and on.

Soooo -- works for me, Mr. Davis. See ya. *S*

Running away won't help. Eventually, the liberals get tired of the destruction they have sowed, and move on to better environs - where you moved to.

I say it is time to take a stand. We did in in 1978 with Prop 13, and we can do it again with this recall.

Why not? They selectively strike down conservative legislative mandates while scrupulously following the "rule of law" when it comes to liberal issues. It's already happened.

Funny, we always felt that Bullhead City was a unbearable, uninhabitable furnace half the year, near a party zones that attracts thousands of party goers year round.
