What Are Our Options When the Constitution No Longer Protects Us?
June 30, 2003 | sweetliberty

It is heartbreaking to see what is happening to our country. We are plunging into decadence at an alarming rate and it seems that it may already be too late to turn back. Let's face it, we are fast becoming a country that our forefathers wouldn't recognize. Judges have, by and large, become activists for the socialist state. The president is dragged through the mud publicly at every opportunity by members of the opposing party, instead of being honored as our leader as he should be. Lying is as common as breathing no matter whose reputation or career might be damaged and more and more the media we once looked to for information reports only propagnada, half-truths and sometimes blatant lies. We no longer have any real security, neither as a sovreign nation with well-defined and protected borders, nor in our homes where the simple act of defending ourselves or our family can now cost us everything and even land us in prison. Our children are no longer our own to raise, but subjects of the state to be indoctrinated in the ways of "tolerance". The rights of criminals trump those of victims and of society as a whole. Marriage between a man and a woman is considered antiquated and to make a furthur mockery of a sacred institution, it is deemed desirable for the perverse practitioners of homosexuality. The evil doctrine of Islam and prayer to its false god is considered acceptable to impose upon school children, but the sacred scriptures are deemed offensive and prayer to the true God forbidden. The same people who will celebrate the slaughter of 85,000,000 innocents in the womb, will rally to spare the life of a serial murderer. We labor under an increasingly intolerable tax burden and we seem unable to do so much as get a handle on the fraud that keeps putting individuals in public office that work against the interests of the people.

When black has become white, murder is a right, lies are declared to be truth, the wrong word or even expression of belief can cost a job or even land you in jail, where do we turn? Do we continue to accept the increasing weight of the chains of political correctness and liberal tyranny? Do we keep going along with the status quo in hopes of a brighter tomorrow? Are we completely helpless to rise up and take charge of our country or are our chains already so well-forged that fighting them is futile and all we can do is moan under the weight of their burden? Is there any hope of restoring decency and common sense? Can our Republic be resurrected?

If the answer is yes, then how? It seems to matter little whether democrats or Republicans are in power, the wheels of a socialist state seem to have already been set in motion and are gaining momentum all the time. It seems that conservatives, patriots and Christians have only stayed the tide by putting a finger in the dike, but we can only hold back the flood for so long without reinforcements. Will they ever come? And if not, what then? Do we just give up, living the best we can till we die, clinging to what liberty we think we have? Or do we seek alternatives? How much do we value our liberty? Do we move away, find a deserted island somewhere? Do we secede even at the risk of another civil war? Do we challenge the government by passive resistance and noncompliance to force its collapse that we might start over? What is the answer?

I know many FReepers have given this a lot of thought and have ideas about how to cope if/when the current climate becomes unbearable. Desperate times call for desperate measures and it seems we are fast approaching desperation. The liberals would call this progress. I would call it a perilous plunge into the wells of decadence, with the glory of our past fast becoming nothing more than an echo in the ruins of a once great nation. < /rant >

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!..Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!"- (Isaiah 5-20-23)
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." - Abraham Lincoln (first inaugural address)

Total BS.

I could see how someone reading only a few of their posts and not getting to know them over time could come to that conclusion.

Awesome thread, XL. I'm surprised it's taken me this long to find it.

What would it take? That is a huge variable. My recommendation is to prepare yourself, like the Minutemen of our past. Stock supplies, arm yourself, practice, stash emergengy arms and ammo, keep a weapon and packful of equipment close by and ready and hope you will never need any of it.

when the revolution begins, and I fear it will if the current trends continue, you will be as ready as you can.

252 - jmc813 - Try not to mind the gun-grabber brigade.

I was not aware of this.

254 - jammer - RE: CJ - I have just quit replying to him/her. Now I see that Chancellor Pallantine is the same way. Even though I posted to him/her last night, I think we should just ignore them totally. They are just disruptors.

I can't say they are disruptors, at this point, but I notice that the tactic of calling others names as opposed to decent disagreement discussion is a tactic of liberals. I also notice my question in #247 remains unanswered - another liberal tactic. Ignore the questions you have no answer to, but continue demanding you agree with them.

257 - tpaine - They've just been joined by an 'irish_link'..

So be it.

I've been here a month longer than Cultural Jihad has been.

Again, I say total BS.

I don't have time to read this thread, but know this: We are turning the tide. We have the levers of power now. If we continue to rise electorally we will be able to reverse the decades of darkness faster than you think. Soon we will be able to have alternatives to those who speak conservative but vote the degenerate party line. Keep the faith. And keep your powder dry.

Your post brought a tear to my eye. What am I teaching my children? I am teaching them that in a free country people can choose to do things I may believe is immoral and that some of those behaviors do not warrant jail because they do not harm others. That people may answer to God, but they have the freedom and God-given free will to decide to engage in the behavior. That true freedom means making good decisions even if the behavior being considered is not illegal. I am teaching them that in the US we cannot impose our religion on others because the government is set up to not do that.

What are you teaching your children?

So that is why the self-avowed Libertarians call those who disagree with them 'statist' and 'socialist' and 'fascist' and 'Nazi' and 'Talibornagain' and 'gun-grabber' and 'drug-warrior' ad nauseum.

"What are you teaching your children?"

That there is right and wrong and good and evil and that liberty exists within boundaries and that just because something is legal or widely accepted doesn't make it right and that evil will thrive if we ignore or enable it.

I've noticed that using the "liberal smear" is a tactic of people who have nothing else to argue with.

No one imposes their religion onto anyone else. But everyone imposes their VALUES upon everyone else, and all the time.

Many here want to impose their religious beliefs on others by having their version of sin codified. In the past you have stated that position. You did so until I pointed out several commandments which, if codified, would clearly be unconstitutional.

Now you are more benign, after you finish the propaganda, you usually say that we have an obligation to codify moral behavior for the good of the immoral, of course, and I suppose because we love them and look over them. Also you sight some collective right to maintain our moral society. Whatever, the reason or method you're all wrong on the freedom thing.

I'll tell you what, I went to a homeschooling conference this past weekend and it was anything but your most conservative(in dress and attitude) type of homeschoolers--when I say that I mean fear God and hide types. There is a revolution brewing and just like was mentioned many time over that weekend, I think Christian homeschoolers are raising a generation of fighters. You would not believe some of the teens and young adults--products of homeschooling--that made speeches this weekend--they were articulate and could use very persuasive argument besides the Bible(which let's face it, is needed if we are to convince people who are not all that moral). Many of the ones I ran into this weekend are looking not to raise docile followers of Christ, but warriors who can witness to Christ by using the secular's arguments against them. And we aren't talking militant kooks here, we are talking about young adults who plan to do the liberal mo and infiltrate gradually into colleges, churches(imagine that having to take churches back from libs), and decision making areas and turn it more conservative--PRAISE GOD that Christians are finally realizing they have to take a stand and have to work IN THE SYSTEM to make it change. I know homeschooling may not seem large in numbers, but these kids have the power to change things--look at the small number of liberals who got us to this point! I came out of that conference not only with confidence in my decision to homeschool, but confidence that quietly warriors for Christ whose aim it is to change this nation are being educated RIGHT NOW! Those in public schools taught the secular drivel will not be able to compete with such persuasive orators as I witnessed this weekend. When those who are peer dependent finally grow up these other children will be influencing this country as ministers, lawyers, professors, politicians whose sole aim is to return this country to it's wonderful roots and start a revival of which we've never seen.

Pram, I think you have a valid point. Massive civil disobedience would in fact put a stop to this! It has proven to work in the past when congresscritters get inundated with calls, emails, and faxes to remove certain lines out of bills or bills being cut alltogether.

Typical of your disruptive tactics CJ..

--- YOU started this little teapot tempest with your nasty, baiting, "anarcho-lunacy" post below.

The solution was very simple. - Close state schools and tell the feds to go to hell.

Ah, more anarcho-lunacy from the perpetually-unhappy "If Only Everyone Thought As I Did Then I Would Be Happy" crowd.
