Iranians want the USA to invade, why they dont invade?

There is a big question while the protests and opposes rised in Iran last week, Why the USA which is next to Iranian borders, dont come in to support or in other words why we Iranians do not see any effective behavior from the US officials. Me, as a citizen of any other country , do not like to see my country to be invaded or collapsed but the real fact in Iran is that the mullahs will not go or over thrown with out any military intervention or support from a powerful source. This is what you can hear in Iran now, I think those men in the Pentagon or the white house should take a decision fast. Are they taking care of the fate of the Iranians? So They have to be more responsible as well. We do not need just words, we need action. The great help America can give us now is to support us more and more not just by words but by actions. Please do something!

The media here has been very slow picking up this story. It has puzzled me and still does. I've sent copies of articles to try to at least get them to announce what's happening on the News. It seems to slowly be appearing in newspapers and on T.V. I'm afraid it will take something horrific, like the execution of protesters, before other news media begin talking more about it. We are aware of what's going on in Iran through daily reports we get on this website. Wish you good luck. We are listening. And will pass your story on to others.

How many regime changes have you had since then? What would be different if this regime was removed?

Clean your own mess. Then build yourselves up enough to clean up everything else wrong with this world and you will see the futility of your whinning. Pledge your son's and daughter's lives to a foreign country and tell me which ones should die and why? You haven't come close to a reason yet.

We need to stay OUT! Invasion will only remove some of the problem and the rest of the gang will shoot our soldiers while we build soccer field for them. The best way to accomplish this would be for the CIA to smuggle in 100s, then 1000s of pistols and rifles exactly like the ones used by Iranian Police and military forces.

It will definitely take longer. I don't know how much of the general population is behind them (can't seem to get an accurate figure). Can't have a couple thousand renegades with guns against the rest of the population. They may need to keep up their demonstrations a while longer to gain more support of the people.

I realise it's painful to see US soldiers not only die in Iraq regularly, but get insulted by the pro-Insane extremists out there, but it's worth the cost. And, we are already preparing Iraqi soldiers to take up the reins in the hot spots.

If we carpet bombed the place, it would be a lot uglier than it is now.

As for Iran, what would be the harm in sending in Green Baret, light fighting gear, intelligence support, and psych-ops? If they topple the regime prettymuch on their own, the Iranian students would form their own government, and I believe it would be a republic, unless we allow someone to pull an internal coup there. You are correct that our nation made a mistake to trust Jimmy Carter. He is a complete foreign affairs goof ball. At the same time, there is no harm [at least here in a free country] admitting that the Iranian people were fooled to topple the Shaw as well. Both sides goofed up.

Sure, if the peaceful method is needed for a bit longer because of Iranian opinion and support- this is worth noting. But what the world thinks about it is largely irrelevent. The democrats and French might be against an armed uprising in Iran but who cares what frogs and jackasses think?

Trav is right, imho. We ought to help these young people in Iran get on equal terms with the thugs and strongarm types in Iran.

I went to university in the 1970's and was in a dormitory with dozens of rude, arrogant and agressive Iranian students. (There was one who actually a pretty nice guy, but he was the exception.) And this was before 1979. My feeling towards Iranians and Iranian students is, I wouldn't pee on you if your face was on fire. (You may be the second exception.)

Why do you presume that the United States wants to be bothered to help you? If we invaded we would be held responsible for establishing something that resembles civil government, something that will not happen in Iran in our lifetimes. And Iranians would have one more excuse - not that need one - to blame all their problems on the United States.

LOL. Of course they have significant support. Who raised these kids, huh? And, our intel community can help inform them. We most definitely need to smuggle information there, let out the dirty goods on their religious leaders, etc.

Speaking of a lack of information on Iran...

Please summarize for us the roles and likely actions of Iran's military, police, versus the "Arab" irregulars ("thugs") that the government seems to prefer to use.

One thing the students do not appear to have is any sign that other elements of the power structure might support them....will the police (army/firefighters/bus drivers/city clerks) back the mullahs or the students?

Will Iran's armed forces sit it out or take an active role?

Why do you believe what you report in this respect?

(Please note that our forces are having problems with your co-religionists in southern Iraq already, stepping into Iram would only widen that conflict into possible civil war.)

Not so much world opinion as support. By other countries being involved in their plight, airing the story worldwide.It would help if they had outside support. The more pressure, the better. The more eyes and ears the better.

Lonesome, speak for yourself. I would not mind a low budget opportunity to help them defend themselves. And just because students were left in the dark about what the score is back in the 70s doesn't mean they are the same today. I believe that many Iranians love the United States, especially khashayar.

Tell me, how easilly could we have liberated ourselves from England without France's help?
