Doesn't the 50 and 10 run concurrent, so she must actually serve a minimum of 25 years before being eligible for parole?

I think she'd have gotten life(poss. of parole in 40) without the roomfull of supporters and maybe someone gave her a break on ecstasy.(undeserved..)

I wanted her to fry. Damn.

She wasn't charged (nor could she reasonably have been) with capital murder which carries the possibility of a death sentence.

A life sentence for murder carries the possibility of release in 40 years.

Wish every state had Texas Justice!

They will cut her loose in 30. It was out right murder and then tampering with evidence on top. She should have gotten life.....

I hope she does not...for obvious reasons. She let the man die, willfully let him die while stuck in her windshield. Drove him home and parked him in the garage that way and left him to bleed to death...and then helped people dispose of the body like he was so much trash.

You'd have her get 20 with parole in 10?

Sorry, but that doesn't fit my idea of justice for what she did.

Just my opinion.

Jeff

No parole for 30 years.

In many states, a prison "year" could be a short as a dog year [I'm might be exaggerating a bit]

Does anyone know how many days are in a Texas prison “year?”

Well what it boils down to is this. This man's life was less important to this woman than her desire to hide her condition while driving. Teddy, are you listening?

If this was my relative I'd want her to fry. She's damn lucky in my book.

She made a big mistake, but I don't think she is an evil person. I think the punishment is sufficient.

If they are concurrent then that may well be true. I'm not versed enough to say for sure.

I heard it announced minimum of 30, but that could also be wrong based on what you say.

I agree!I softened somewhat when I saw her testify.I no longer wished is was a death penalty case and that old sparky would be pulled out of storage.
