Amen - from a dyed-in-the-wool napper!

To each his own, but I don't like to nap. I usually wake up feeling groggy, and that feeling often lasts the rest of the day.

I always find that when I snag one of those Sunday afternoon naps, my dream state is more active than it is at night. And the dreams are better retained in my memory after I have awaken.

It's too bad siestas have never caught on in the USA. A little after lunch snoozing is definitely the way to go, keeps one alert and energetic well into the evening.

That was one of the upsides to being in a field infantry unit. You slept whenever there was 'downtime'.
We called them 'Combat Naps'. Your body will tell you when it needs sleep. If you push it beyond the point of endurance, it will take the sleep whether you want it to or not...

A short nap instead of coffee will extend ones life by many years.
To: Mister Magoo
I take a nap every afternoon and this article is right on.
One thing to remember: Always get your good night's sleep on your belly, with your feet hanging over the end of the bed and your head turned to the left. Take naps on your back. No joke.
To: Mister Magoo
I guess the fact that I took a Sunday afternoon nap today is the reason I am subjecting myself to a replay of today's DemocRAT debate today... normally a five alarm snooze!!!

I take a short siesta (about an hour) instead of lunch nowadays. It has completely eliminated the "3 O'clock Droop" I used to suffer, and I can work late into the night then awake refreshed the next day.
