I can't understand why some around here are so enamored with Rupert Murdoch. To me he's nothing but a filth peddler who has no standard besides making a buck.

There is also a little button on the front of the TV - and the remote control - labled, "Off".
Works for me everytime.

Uh....ever try just plain, old "Turn the dang thing off?"
Yeah, I saw it, it was crude, but somewhat funny. If you don't like it, don't watch it and teach your kids the same.

oh STFU already...
(not you webber)
LEARN TO TURN THE TV OFF, OR CHANGE THE CHANNEL And stop bothering the rest of us.
To: stboz
You can control TV; the TV doesn't control you.
Just watch old re-runs of Mr Belvedere, and you'll be fine.

On my remote, I have a (+) button and a (-) button, so instead of giving up on the tv altogether, I can change the channel to one of 77 other choices, should I find something offensive on one.
And what was anybody at the PTC doing watching FOX? Was PAX knocked off the air for an hour or something?

No it's commendable for webber to bring this to our attention. In the UK free network (not cable/satelite) TV has hardcore porn after 10. You don't want that to happen in your country. Be vigilant!
By the way, was Murdock behind "Queer as folk"? That was a sick series.

Take a walk. Talk to friends. Read a book. Turn off the TV if it annoys you. Geez.
The real disease is the urge to regulate the private tastes of other people.

Oh come on! If you don't want your kids to watch it, just change the channel...

Turning your tv off may work for you,but what about the kids who watch programs like this without their parents knowledge? Maybe the kids are watching shows like this in their rooms. If we don't do something about this it will only get worse! TV shows are getting more vulgar every year!

Wow, pretty gross, crude, and I am glad that my kids did not see it. Guess it is a good thing that I control what my kids watch on the television, or I would have had to explain that a nasty old hooker could not really give a horse a heart attack. It is a shame that more parents do not take their responsibilities seriously (or should that be seriesly?).
To: ohiobushman
Maybe the kids are watching shows like this in their rooms. What the heck is a kid doing with a tv in their room in the first place? Sounds to me like a parenting problem, not a tv problem. If you are incapable of determining your kid's tv watching habits, you've got bigger problems than some racy TV.

We threw our TV away years ago. I recommend you either do the same or switch the channel.

Maybe the kids are watching shows like this in their rooms. That's one of the reasons my 3 children don't have TV's in their rooms. And, I set the parental controls on our TiVo's to block all the filth. In any case, I agree with other posts: If you don't like it, either change the channel or turn the damn box off!

I've signed the petition eventhough I'm not sure it will do anything.
As you all probably know already this particular show is not the exception but the rule. It is only now a question of how low they would go.
Some of you here are correct when you say that we should just turn off the TV or not even have one especially if you have kids. But organizations like Parents Television Council are trying to stem the tide, even just a little, for the sake of those children who have neglectful or non-existent parents and are being raised on the filth they see on TV, movies, videogames, etc.
It has really become a very serious issue in the last few years. I grew up watching CHiPs, Knight Rider, (not the most innocent shows but still fairly clean) etc. Now, kids are watching Jerry Springer, and vile sitcoms and reality shows. God help them and God help us too because they will eventually be adults and in charge when we become old.

With that dialog, this has GOT to be from the Onion, right?

There is something called a remote, and on this device you can change the channel on your television.
