...The privilege walk [see the article] was part of a course in whiteness studies, a controversial and relatively new academic field that seeks to change how white people think about race. The field is based on a left-leaning interpretation of history by scholars who say the concept of race was created by a rich white European and American elite, and has been used to deny property, power and status to nonwhite groups for two centuries.
Advocates of whiteness studies -- most of whom are white liberals who hope to dismantle notions of race -- believe that white Americans are so accustomed to being part of a privileged majority they do not see themselves as part of a race...
...But opponents say whiteness studies has already done that. David Horowitz, a conservative social critic who is white, said whiteness studies is leftist philosophy spiraling out of control. "Black studies celebrates blackness, Chicano studies celebrates Chicanos, women's studies celebrates women, and white studies attacks white people as evil," Horowitz said.
"It's so evil that one author has called for the abolition of whiteness," he said. "I have read their books, and it's just despicable..."

Another idea so stupid only an intellectual would believe it.

I'm not white. I'm "clear". LOL! Me too.
Why the left can't see the racism in this is just amazing.

We have an elementary school in the Pajaro Valley Unified school district, Watsonville CA, that teaches a class to the elementary school kids about "white privilege"
The school is starlight school. Its curriculum is being developed by an overt marxist. They use a lot of materials from this place"

The attack on traditional cultural values continues; but this is but a variant on an old Leftist theme.
The whole subject of ethnicity and race, has been deliberately corrupted by those seeking an undifferentiated humanity. The underlying motivation, in most cases, seems to be a desire to submerge us all in a Collectivist World order. To understand the tactics of academic distortion, see Myths & Myth Makers In American "Higher" Education.
Any parent who sends a child off to college, without first inculcating a pride in the American ethnic heritage, based upon an understanding of that heritage, is truly sending a lamb to the slaughter. The Academic Left is truly vicious. This has never been about "idealism" or "tolerance." That is the pose; but the reality is something very ugly.

Merely not "overcooked" or "burnt"; I prefer my steak and fish rare or medium rare...
I don't like my fish...

Shoulda known there was a chicken farmer here on FR!
My older brother got 100 baby chicks sent MO by Sears Roebuck when he was only 12 and soon he was selling cartons of fresh eggs to several nearby grocery stores as well as to all our neighbors.
Mom got 'em free, as well as the occasional fresh chicken for Sunday dinner.
Then came 75 rabbits starting from only 3. Next door neighbor was our HS principal who showed us how to rabbit punch those big fat ones. Bob bought packaging "ALL WHITE MEAT" and sold these to the grocery stores too.
Then came the $1-$5 newborn dairy calves hand feed in the back yard behind the house (in town) to raise up, breed to his State Championship Brahma Bull for beef calves and the young new cows sold back to the dairys.
Then the Brahma steers.
Stopped after HS when we retired from the livestock to go to U of F.

Your brother's childhood sounds wonderful. I'd love to have chickens here (perfect land for it), but I have this nasty problem of 'naming' animals. Bottom line: I can't eat an animal with a "name." LOL!
{if I could, I'd be having peacock tonight!}
