Howard Dean's son was just arrested for felony burglary, I don't know how to post a breaking news thread....

Not very good PR for Dean

Let's make them squirm a little, it's entertaining.

I think maybe we should just let them self destruct on their own. Dont want to give any credence to their right wing conspiracy talk. HA!

..."most radical and dangerous economic theory to hit our shores since socialism," says Senator John Edwards.

Only an idiotic, imbecilic moron could have uttered this truth without knowing it.

I am sure that line is going to fly well with your base John.

Good point. I was going for the traditional Democrat base voter, but you probably nailed who his base is better.

If we don't share a common reality, if our actual perceptions - not just our policy preferences or values - are so fundamentally dissimilar, what hope is there for civility?

Steve, I don't believe that we do share a common reality.

I pretty much gave up even talking to those on the Left about mid-way through the Clinton depredations, because it was obvious that no facts, evidence or anything else mattered to them anymore.

Pat Moynihan, one of the few whom I admired, once noted,

"We are all entitled to different opinions- what we are all not entitled to is our own set of facts..."

Obviously, if the person you are debating keeps shifting the "facts" to reach their desired conclusion, you cannot debate them. It's a pity, but that seems to be the way it now is in America.

George Bush's economic policy is the "most radical and dangerous economic theory to hit our shores since socialism," says Senator John Edwards.

At least the Bush economic policy is, unlike yours Senator, somewhat distinguishable from socialism.

We started as a small voice in the vast media of leftist screams. We set out to counter the left's lies with truth and the American people listened and watched. Slowly our voice got louder and the truth that countered the lies had become more subscribed to by the real American people. We were saying what they felt, but were afraid, themselves, to say. The leftists shouted louder and more profane and we kept true to our ethics and found the truth to their lies. It's working friends, and it's working well.

The left has only one shot. That's an all out, last ditch, all or nothing, attack to take our voice away from us. If we had a 1993 government, and we were this popular and powerful, congress and the administrative branch would had passed legislation to silence us. And, IF the Supreme Court would have been liberal, our first Amendment rights would be history and there wouldn't have been a damn thing we could have done about it. If they ever get that kind of power again they WILL do exactly that.

Celebrate, laugh and raise your glasses high my friends, but go back to work the next day fighting as if you were 10 runs behind in the bottom of the 7th. These are very dangerous and desparate people that want your freedoms and your liberty. Don't ever forget that.

"This republic is at its greatest danger in its history because of this administration," says Democratic senator Robert Byrd.

"I think this is deliberate, intentional destruction of the United States of America," says liberal commentator Bill Moyers.

Seems to me Democrats are now very vulnerable from their own in their irrational focus on conservatives. A third green party would now make much more sense to make a foray into them. They are litteraly selling theirs souls. It is to wonder if one of us could actualy find opportunity to extort the guts out of them just so that we can make them look a bit less ridiculous. They are leaderless and Hitlers are about to come up on stage to lead them. They are as ripe as a rotten pear for the picking.

Has the other side gone crazy? Have the Democrats totally flipped their lids?

Yes. Liberal radio talk show host, Randi Rhodes, in Palm Beach county recently mentioned how her big fantasy in life was to give a "Lewinsky" to Bill Clinton aboard Air Force One. And now Randi is desperately trying to get a national talk radio show.

Thanks for the heads up ! I think this sums up the 'RATS behavior rather nicely !!:

It's mystifying. Fury rarely wins elections. Rage rarely appeals to suburban moderates. And there is a mountain of evidence that the Democrats are now racing away from swing voters, who do not hate George Bush, and who, despite their qualms about the economy and certain policies, do not feel that the republic is being raped by vile and illegitimate marauders. The Democrats, indeed, look like they're turning into a domestic version of the Palestinians--a group so enraged at their perceived oppressors, and so caught up in their own victimization, that they behave in ways that are patently not in their self-interest, and that are almost guaranteed to perpetuate their suffering.

Interesting article. I agree with many of the author's points. However, I disagree with the subtext, which is: Politics is going on pretty much the same as always, but the Democrats are having a hard time adjusting to their downturn in the political cycle. My belief is that since the rise of Ronald Reagan, the Democrats have been in a rush to tip the country down the path of Eurosocialism before they constitute such a minority that this becomes impossible. They have a chance to accomplish this still, as most Republican politicians remain "big government" proponents unwilling to roll back substantially the welfare state which began with the New Deal. In fact, many Republicans (including, unfortunately, our fine President) are willing to expand the welfare state for tactical advantage. The battle to maintain a federal republic political structure with a free-market capitalist economy at its base against socialist depredations is more intense now than at any time since the '30s. The Democrats realize this. We should as well, and not assume that the left's ranting is simply a psychological phenomenon.

swamps liberal efforts to get their ideas out

On the contrary, the liberals' ideas ARE getting out and THAT is what turns people off to their insipid blather.

"When they look to the culture at large, many Democrats feel that the climate is so hostile to them they can't even speak up."

95% or more of the press and educational establishment isn't enough for them. The true Nazism is their hysterical effort to stamp out every last dissenter. I don't think Gore-TV is going to be the answer for them.
