The government can never come clean. Accept closure and hope that some day a human being with a conciense will get close enough to the investigation to reveal the truth.
So far, nobody has, except outsiders.
Bump.

How could the president be so mendacious? I guess she must have been a dim....

So which was it? A wayward Aegis training inert SAM or a couple of terrorists in speedboats with MANPADS?
One thing for certain, it was NOT the center fuel tank.

I guess amending the Death on the High Seas Act so that TWA 800 families would receive big settlements wasn't enough to keep this mother quiet.
I wonder if Bill Clinton gets nervous when he gets on a plane.

One thing for certain, it was NOT the center fuel tank. AND your proof is?
In actuality there have been DOZENS of fuel tank explosions.

some day a human being with a conciense will get close enough to the investigation to reveal the truthIn the meantime, do *any* of these authors address the age of these aircraft or the record of problems with certain systems - like the forward cargo bay door and latches?

Hi _Jim. I haven't seen you in a while. I thought you were busy enough trying to hold that center fuel tank theory together.
To: JohnHuang2
During the entire time I was in New York, I knew that TWA800 was taken down by a terrorist organization. Why didn't they take credit for it? What good is terrorism if people think it was an accident?

Now after reading your book, "First Strike," it has become clear that again my gut feeling was right TWA800 was not brought down by mechanical failure. Simply and clearly a denial of history to think that yet another B747 would not succumb to mechanical failure of one sort or another - ever again! - since there have been a number of them over the years that weren't taken down by 'missile' YET they managed to 'crash' for one mechanial failure or another.
THAT is fact.

I thought you were ...THAT is but one of a couple of the plausable causes, however, that is not the leading contender of causes once the history (including accident history) of the 747 is known ...

I appreciate your efforts _Jim, but center fuel tanks and cargo doors still don't explain what witnesses saw. I know you disagree with that, so I'll just agree to disagree.

The NTSB in it's report on TWA800 mentions the following:
"since 1959 there have been at least 26 documented fuel tank explosions/fires in military and civilian transport-category airplanes "
It seems that no one 'bothers' to check as authoratative a source as the NTSB report (NEITHER has any other conspiracy-minded fan!) for facts in this case as opposed to the loosely-written conspiracy-based works by a number of authors who sell books for a living. 'Selling books for a living' - that should be the 'clue' that these works
have to be palatable to the audience they are targetting ...

Witless witnesses. Numb witnesses. Inebriated witnesses.
Witnesses mistaking fireworks fired-off either earlier or later that same evening, witnesses observing flame, reflections from the sun off debris falling from the ailing B747 ...
SOME of the *best* witnesses were the 'trained eyes' in the 'flight lanes' that evening behind TWA800 - NO SUCH REPORTS of 'missiles' from them.
