60 MIN II Special On Iranian TV
NITV (National Iranian Television) ^

Posted on 06/18/2003 7:05:34 PM PDT by tricky_k_1972

I just saw a 60 Min II special on a U.S. based Iranian TV Station based in California that is broadcasting into Iran. They helped organize the 9/11 U.S. support (candlelight vigil) two nights running in which the Iranians were beaten for their support. They make fun of the Mullahs and are also helping to organize and support the resistance in Iran, but they need our help. They get no government funding (go figure the one place it would be useful) and are a donation and subscription based group. So I plan to donate and hope you’ all will to.

My letter of support:

I would like to thank you for all that you are doing in Iran. I am former U.S. soldier who has both friends and family serving in Iraq now. I remember very well the expression of love and support that the Iranian people gave our country on 9/11, I cried. I understand form the 60 min. special that your company had allot to do with that and is further working to free your people. I have seen old pictures of Iranian soldiers and U.S. soldiers laughing and celebrating together in your country, I hope to see that again soon, God willing.

A brother in Freedom, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Former U.S. Army)

bumping again....I also saw the report (rarely watch 60 Minutes, but was interested in the Jet Blue story (figures, Denver is the closest city they fly to).

Luckily, the end of the report indicated they are getting enough money to continue for now from viewers. But due to many big donors not wanting to help, they could use all the help they could get.

I wonder why the big doners are staying away.....you would think they would support any effort to get rid of the mullahs.
I think the young people are the answer to the future.
NITV is stiring them up.....bigtime!

If anyone wants to see what was on the show, just go to 60 Minutes II .com....it is on the website.

I will never forget a picture that was posted on FR a few days after 9-11. Young Iranians in tears, bearing lit candles showing respect for the American dead. It was the most beautiful thing I've seen in years.

Thank you for the link. Will send a donation to this worthy cause. Hopefully, Sen. Brownbeck's bill will pass.

I also happened to see this segment. One of the best 60 Minutes segments I've ever seen. The passion for freedom for their homeland and their use of humor to give their people hope for the future was truly inspiring.

Senator Sam Brownback is trying to push through a bill that would give them 50 million dollars of help. I'm praying that it passes. Also, please keep the Iranian people in your prayers. I've been praying and hoping that God will hear the prayers of the oppressed people of Iran. I know He does, but is our government? I hope so!

Take the money from PBS, particularly anything Bill Moyers has his greedy hands in.

Just saw they had some discussion on PBS about NITV, of course they presented them badly. Go Figure.
