Officers' safety during sniper attacks investigated
Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose is facing new criticism -- but this time, it's not about his book deal.
W-U-S-A T-V reports that the county's Fraternal Order of Police is investigating questions about officers' safety during last fall's sniper shootings. The report is said to be exploring the possibility that important information was withheld from officers patrolling the streets during the attacks.
The Fraternal Order of Police isn't releasing any details about the investigation.
Moose has also been under fire from the county's ethics commission for a yet-to-be published book about the sniper manhunt.
A county ethics commission ruled in March that he stop work on the book, and state and federal courts have yet to rule on Moose's appeal of that decision.

Between Chief Moose and that ex-Investigator Williams, they could start their own Ebonics School

Of course, I should have added, if Chief Moose wrote the news release about his resignation, there would have been spelling mistakes in there for sure.

what does this have to do with "WMAL" or anybody resigning? Nothing, I agree. WMAL radio in Washington, DC, the Rush flagship station here, has reported Moose's resignation and FOP and others' response, about 6 times, but they don't have a story on their website yet. Will continue to look for one. Fox News broke in and aired a brief report saying he'd resigned, too.

Good Riddence .. Moose is just another version of Jesse "James" Jackson
with a badge...
Its a miracle that even in spite of his incompetance ( his racism and underqualification for the office) and hindering the investigation the killers were found and arrested

Good riddance. Yes, good riddance. Paul Sperry of WND filed a report earlier in the year citing detectives' off-the-record concerns about the sniper investigation. I'm sad to say Chief Moose was inept and ideologically driven to the detriment of us all. I'll see if I can find Sperry's story.

I know one thing for sure, I would not want either Chief Moose or that guy Williams investigating a murder of one of my family members or one of friends, (Unless of coarse, I did the killing) :-)

Moose resigns!!
Also an article here
http://www.nbc4.com/news/2278369/detail.html Moose received national attention as the public face for investigators in last year's sniper investigation.
However, Moose ran into problems when he agreed to write a book about the investigation. The county ethics board said the book violated the county's policy which prohibits county officials from recieving outside profits from county work. Duncan said Moose believes the book is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that he cannot pass up. Duncan supported Moose's efforts to write the book. "It had been my hope that the Chief would be able to share with the American public his personal observations about those harrowing three weeks, while continuing to serve the community he cares so deeply about. Unfortunately, it does not appear that this outcome will be achieved," Duncan said in a statement. "It has been an honor and privilege to work for and with you in this beautiful county. I wish only the best for you and all the women and men of the Montgomery County Police Department," Moose said in a statement. He was not available for media interviews on Wednesday. Moose's resignation takes effect on June 28. Bill O'Toole started serving as the interim police chief when Moose, a member of the DC National Guard, was called to active duty at the start of the war with Iraq. Duncan said O'Toole will continue in that position until a permanent chief is found.
