He said people often misuse handguns because of a lack of firearm education and training. No. People misuse handguns either out of Stupidity, Criminal Intent, or a combination of the two...

Noteworthy that a Democrat sponsored the bill, and the only opposing vote quoted in the article was a Republican. I find that very interesting.

I hope this spreads to other states!

Go figure. My guess....public pressure was key to its passage, and a big YES to the likelihood crime will plummet in Alaska!
Party labels are meaningless when it comes to the Constitution. Both republicans and democrats are out to destroy it. Active Citizenship is the only anchor the Constitution has ever had.

I have noticed that in States with concealed weapon carry people are seem polite, less inclined to fuss at their neighbors, or rob them.

Nothing like a warm barrel of a gun to give meaning to the word 'civil'.

Did you ever notice that the States/cities with the most strict gun laws have the most crime? Way to go Alaska.

"I object to the government putting a precondition on that constitutional right (to carry a weapon). I'm presumed to be a responsible citizen until proven otherwise," Croft said. Now, how can we get Swinestien and Boxer to utter those words...

I'm presumed to be a responsible citizen until proven otherwise,"
Too bad more states didn't take this view. Good for Alaska.
