The guy wearing the devil costume out on Pennsylvania Avenue yesterday was adamant.

"Enter the bookstore and take two steps down — morally and socially," he hollered into a bullhorn.

The mannerly crowd outside Trover Shop Books on Capitol Hill gazed back at him, clutching precious orange vouchers that proved they had already paid for "Living History," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's new memoir.

..I will proudly support any of my fellow Chicago FReepers that want to come in costume, I, however, will be in my best dressed business attire to win over the white collar type demon 'rats. ;o)...

Good onya, as we say Downunder. Thanks so much for what you're doing. Really looking forward to your after-action report. Best regards, By

It's not the other side that I'm worried about...it's the "undecideds" that I want to win to our side ;o)

I tell ya, you should see the way the media feeds on Daley's tantrums and makes him look like a fool and he's not even in costume!!!!!

Why apologize for my opinion????

I am not putting them down for their tactics. I am doing what works for me. I think it's great they did that. LOL In our nation's capitol, I'm sure you have to be outrageous to garner media attention, same with San Fran probably. I'm glad they do what they do! I have no personal problem with it....merely playing "devil's advocate" {G} (like that pun on words?)

Besides, we'll get media attention ;o)....if the best dressed thing doesn't work, I can always resort to another liberal tactic and flash my cleavage (or more) at them!!! LOL (I'm kidding)

We smile the whole time we are chanting "MEAN SPIRITED ARROGANT CONDESCENDING LIBERAL" while he/she/they quickly walk away. It has been very effective.

LOL....did you ever notice Liberals don't smile much, except for photo ops?????

I just picked up this AWESOME pictoral at WalMart tonight...about 2" thick book of nothing but the best photos (and very little commentary, if any) from the War in Iraq....this picture in Bush's office where he's signing something (I persume something to do with the war) all the Republicans are smiling and the 'Rats are all somber!!!!

I highly recommend this book....just heading to put a post up about it....I'll ping you! Some of the images brought tears to my eyes!!!!!

Sure. Hey, you're the one in liberal Chicago, the belly of the beast. You decide what works best. I think it's terrific that you're out there protesting, and every Freeper wishes you success. If you have to use the Cleavage Option, I'm sure we'll be even more supportive! :) Cheers, By

No, I really will (probably) be working that weekend - my irish buddies live a few blocks from wrigley, though, & they hate the clintons (actually, they hate bill's peace plan for ireland, since they have never surrendered to the brits, but thats the same thing) but if they dont party too late the previous night they may show up - i have emailed the details to them

If you have never been to a DC Chapter Freep, you have no idea what you are talking about. You need to get out of you closet more.

I'd love to come to a DC FReeping. Y'all have a WHOLE different atmosphere than we do here in Daleyland (Read Daley HE**)

Out of the closet???? Whatever are you insinuating??? Besides, I Like my closet, it's huge, and has a pink bulb and I can try on clothes all day & talk to myself...I'm all the entertainment I need! LOL

You're entitled to your opinion! However, when Rush illustrates obsurdity by being obsurd - it works!!

But he's Rush ;o)

If you read further, I have no problem with being absurd when it works. I just think in Chi-town (especially since her book signing is so close to "boys town") ...wait...her signing is close to "Boys Town"???? Hmmmm, we'd just blend in with all the other "Freaks"....why wear costumes???? We need to stand out! LOL

With all due respect, "ok...no devil suits at our FReeping, it just makes ourside look silly and foolish. :o)" sounded a little like a 'put down', even with the smiley.

What?

Doctor Raoul has been dressing up in "silly and foolish" costumes at FReeps for almost five years and guess what? He's not just caught the attention of the regular guy/gal on the street. He's caught the eye of the media, they come over and take pictures of him and the rest of us, and they ask questions. Then the pictures get published in newspapers, video is played on TV, our signs are seen by tens of thousands, our words are heard by at least that many, and I daresay - more than a few middle of the road folks learn facts that would otherwise likely not have been reported by the media.

A costumed protester may look silly to you, but it's far from foolish.

If you organize a FReep in your area, it is your call, of course. Good luck, whatever dress code you decide on.
