This is great news. Bush has given the State Department alot of leeway, gave them a try and it looks like he's fed up with their RBI of zero. (I realllly hope so.)

Next I'd like to see him pull out the gravy train on most of the countries in the ME. It's their choice. You aren't gonna support us and do what we ask, fine and dandy. It's up to them. Just like it would be our decision not to invest in them if they don't support us. Makes sense to me at least.

All we would be doing is not giving a gift to ungratefuls. Miss Manners would concur.

Bush knows that as long as HAMAS is in power, the road map can never even begin to be enacted. It is difficult to negotiate with a group who's stated goal is not to have a Palestinian state, but to murder all Israelis.

So it appears that this "road map " will cause the Palistinian people to choose sides as either a Militant (Terrorist) or peace loving Pali.

I think this has been another brilliant move by our President.
It further exposes the targets for Israel and they just go around Arafat.

Glad to hear this. It's just common sense. You have to get rid of the crazy people (terrorists-suicide bombers) before you can do any thing else. Otherwise they (Hamas exc..) are just going to keep throwing a wrench into every attempt at at a peaceful resolution.

On the negative side, this appears to be an impossible situation. It seems the trick is in trying to get the Palestinian people to turn on the terrorists(turn them in, take them out, whatever). Or, maybe, get the terrorists to turn on the Palestinians and tick them off? But if the Pali's don't see anything wrong with sending their own children to be suicide bombers, it might well be a lost cause. They are too far gone with madness and hatred to ever be reasoned with.( I'm sure they watch Hate TV 24/7 too-otherwise known as Al Jeezera. Then they have their so called "education" system, that tells them to hate Israeli's and blame them for everything.)

It looks like every attempt at resolving the conflict always goes the same way:

Pali's want land, Israeli's agree to give up some land, Nut-ball Pali straps on bomb and blows up_____________(Bus, Hotel, Israeli Soldiers, Pizza Place, Night club...fill in the blank)-killing and injuring dozens , if not hundreds of innocent Israeli's, Israeli's retaliate targeting the people responsible for attack,(sometimes hitting people caught in the crossfire) Pali's whine and complain about how they were "attacked" and absolutely refuse to acknowledge any wrong doing. They attempt to justify the killing of innocent Israeli's by saying they (Pali's) are "oppressed", so its okay to kill innocent Israeli's . Then they try to say that Nut-ball who strapped on bomb is the same as Israeli soldiers going after sponsor's of Nut-Ball, even though one is a cold blooded, deliberate murderer, the other is trying to hit specific target, but misses from time to time, not intentional targetting of by standers. - then the whole thing starts all over again...Prayers are needed here.

(I don't usually like to make "they" statements about people, but it seems like there are very few Palestinian's, who genuinley want peace with Israel- they seem to want a winner-take-all fight to the finish)

Excellent news. It appears the White House has decided on a change in tactics, and IMHO this the best way to go.

A Kudo to the Administration for quickly recognizing the reality of the situation and responding in an effective manner.
