jla...for your new home I recommend an easy ground cover for those front planters, it's pretty and I believe you're zoned for it...it's called "snow on the mountain"...grows in all types of soils and it's really pretty...also compliments any flower bed. It will grow in shade & sun and is drought resistant...very hard to kill.

Also if you have some sunny spots....Black Eyed Susan's are wonderful and shade or sun (but at least partial sun) is great for Kalidescope Hydrengia :o) They like to be covered in the winter if you guys get a lot of frost.

Roses are exceptionally awesome, but they take A LOT of care...they must be pruned & sprayed regularily to do their best....remember to trim/prune on the odd # leaf!

Honey suckles are awesome vines...if Peonies grow in your area, I recommend them.

If you know anyone that is into gardening, you can always get starts of flowers from their gardens when they "thin" :o)

Bleeding Hearts are another favorite.

Chunk Of Concrete Falls Into Stands At R-Braves Game

A piece of concrete about the size of a football dropped off one of The Diamond's roof supports and into the baseball stadium's seating area yesterday afternoon.

No one was hurt. After falling about 75 feet, the concrete hit the stands only a seat or two away from several spectators during the second inning of the Richmond-Norfolk game. The concrete dented the back of a vacant seat in the press-box level. Some of the concrete broke off into smaller chunks.

This is in the section above where cherry_bomb88, adsimp, the Sultan and our friends were sitting. cherry_bomb88 will post photos of the incident later. The article says no one was injured, but we saw security people carrying a young boy out of that section as they were roping it off.

Strong winds swirled around The Diamond for about 10 minutes before the piece of concrete fell. (General Manager Bruce) Baldwin didn't believe the wind was related to the fallen concrete.

I have said in the past that Baldwin is not very bright.

I should have the pictures back later this week....I swear the whole weekend was bizzare for me!!

My flight out of O'Hare that was supposed to take off at 6pm from here was delayed and then cancelled (we had very bad storms) there were no more flights into Richmond until the next afternoon, after checking with my host for ability....I was able to get on a flight into Reagan National (and I had such a darling host to come pick me up from there at 3:30 am by the time we got in) I hate flying, this reaffirmed it...if I'd drove and left my house at 6am on Friday, I would have been into Richmond about 9:30 or 10 on Friday night (long before the stupid airplane).

The game was a blast...I very much enjoyed the additional company of Big '88, AdSimp and Co. Wonderful people....the game was "interesting" with the concrete incident...but very fun!

My flight out today was delayed 2 hours, but I was upgraded to first class as the plane was half empty....was a nice way to fly!

I hope when I come out the next time that I get to meet more of you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am exhausted from airport delays...pictures to come later.

Wow, reminds me of the Seattle Kingdome where the Seattle Mariners played, before Safeco Field was built. A similar incident occured where a 150 lb. section of ceiling tiles fell onto the field.

The Kindome was a fiasco, and was imploded with explosives, to bring it down.

I believe a similar statement was made there, by the manangement.

This is faulty construction, and the dopey GM (Baldwin) is just doing a C.Y.A.

Ok...update on my bet with myself....

Month 1:

Weight loss was only 2.5 pounds....HOWEVER....

I lost 3 inches in my waist, and an inch each (at least) in my bust, abdomen, hips & thighs. Also, my body fat was down 1% and my BMI was down 1.1 :o)

I have mucho energy & I'm going to start incorporating a lower fat diet & really work hard to drink that water over the next month so hopefully I'll double those results for the next month :o)
