Our Cruise Ship the "Triumph"
First stop, Cozumel Mexico!
Great Beaches!
Seclusion...
...and FUN!
Next, off to Grand Cayman!
...and STINGRAY CITY!
Diotima, Darly and Seeking the Truth!
DON'T GET OUT OF THE BOAT!
Careful...they BITE!
"You grab them like this, then toss them on the bar-b-que before they can bar-b-you!"
"Honey, if we throw them one of the kids, maybe they'll leave us alone."
Darn, those Cayman beaches are ugly...
FReepers enjoying the sand and sun!
On to Jamaica!
Morning in Ocho Rios
Very old Spanish built bridge
Tubing anyone?
"Dear, the waters a little colder than at the beach..."
Even the rivers are aquamarine
You just can't beat Jamaica for their 5 star facilities...
I'm okay with jerk chicken, but skank jerk chicken?
Plenty of places to steal away in the Jamaican Jungle
Back in Ocho Rios, we found this absolutely stunning restaurant at the base of a waterfall called "The Ruins". Here are some shots...
Someone say "dinner"?
Shots from around the ship
BobfromNJ and the dreaded Clinton "VOODOO DOLL"
Well, he WAS our first black prez...
That's all for now folks! Plenty more pics but we won't bore you too much! Hope you can make it with us next time and until then...
Take it easy, mon!"

StT, I saw where your other half registered the other day, but I've already forgotten her new screennameDarlie & I missed you and Larry and Jerry too!
I don't even know her new screen name. I know her old one, I think?

Alaska sounds wonderful - except that ratchets up the cost significantly IIRC, I believe it was HoosierMama in another thread who suggested a Windjammer Cruises sailing next time. (HM, slap me if I'm wrong, please).
A little more work is involved as you ARE the crew to some degree, and I'm not sure if the cost issue would be ameliorated by the passenger-as-crew aspect at all, but I believe it an intriguing idea nonetheless. At least the class of rations carried on sailing ships these days has improved from the weevil-ridden hardtack and watered-down pusser's rum of a previous day.
(Free clue: Take plenty of gloves. Leather, sturdy gloves. Several pairs. Unless you love blisters.)

You have Freepmail.
(And for the benefit of those who believe that strela routinely fails to engage his brain before sending other such missives, you are absolutely right).

It would take you 4 minutes only if you stopped for a hit from the "shot girl"!

There are martial arts moves that can completely disable an attacker in a matter of a second or two. However, I like lagniappe though ... I stand by 4 minutes. (For I need to get something for myself too).

Hate to hear you had to go back to work this morning. Was awaken early this AM by a chirping chorus ... lead by the wren, oriole, and bluebird. Mowed the lawn (for two and a half hours) amid the fragrance of honey-suckle, roses and iris....the various lilies are also in bloom.....Being retired is almost as good as being on the cruise, but not nearly as much fun!

Good one...heheh.

Your message was some kind of torture. Birds and flowers sound lots better than documents and computers. Especially when the computer is on the fritz. I had such a great time I really didn't want it to end. Your friend, Barbara

Windjammer "barefoot" cruises have looked like fun, BUT they are actually more expensive than "traditional" cruises. The cabin arrangements can be interesting as well - they have a combination of a few "normal" cabins and then they have "dorms" with 6-8 beds.
On top of that - when I think of a cruise - I think of being pampered, leisure, comfort - not doing my best to get blisters!

It was at a restaurant in Ocho Rios, Jamaica called "The Ruins." It is also a conference facility. They had a lovely garden surrounding the waterfall.

I loved hard work but love sitting at a mountain retreat more. So, I made a deal with my husband. I'll work the first 20 years of our marriage. I'll pay the bills, take care of all the financing. At the end of those 20 years I retire and he supports me till the day I die.
March 2002 was our 20th anniversary. I have been retired since July of 2002 and I am currently sitting on a gorgeous 14 acre hill (no mountains in Georgia) playing in the dirt.
My husband got to experiment with a few different business experiments, climb mountains and volcanos, sky dive, hunt, water and snow ski, paintball competitions, roller hockey, got his helicopter pilots license and a number of other fun things while he was young and strong enough to try just about everything he set his mind to. We both really enjoy caving and bunjee jumping.(We don't have children.)
He has two good viable businesses and supports me at a standard of living most would envy. I know I picked a really good one.
