"Mister Sterling" Cancelled (TV Guide)

I finally got around to reading this week's issue of TV Guide.
Pg. 46: Left-wing poop drama "Mister Sterling" has not been renewed.
Also, Ted Danson (he and his wife, Mary Steenburgen, are major Clinton brown-nosers)'s show "Becker" has not been renewed, but could return in mid-season.
With The West Wing's ratings dropping and Sorkin leaving, The West Wing could be the next show gone.

No losses, re Sterling and Becker. The promos for Sterling were so sickening, I never bothered checking it out. Becker was a laugh-free comedy, a suddenly common type (see Friends, Will & Grace, et al.). But Sorkin's leaving The West Wing is a real tragedy. As much as I despise his politics, he's a dramatic genius. And part of that genius has been in masking his politics, since 911. TV will be incalculably impoverished by his departure.

Now if they would only cancel the gay lover's show. Maybe she should start hammering the sponsors!

look,
anything with Ted Danson, Whoopi Goldberg, Alec (puffy-face) Baldwin or BwaBwa Stweisand...? Automatically gets the "must
miss" rating.
And West Wing? West Wing??? I watched one episode, and never watched another. Martin Sheen tries to stick his nose into politics, because he niavely believes that pretending to be President is as good as the real thing...!
I won't watch any show, any movie or spend money on any music performed by an outspoken liberal. It limits my choices for TV and the movies... but on the other hand, it gives me time to catch up on my Shakespeare, Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Piss on Hollywierd.

I can proudly state that I never watched a single episode.
Discovery, History, Fox, Movies, thank God for today's options.

I saw an episode of Sterling, long story short, this show was a commercial for people who think that people like Boxer are moderates.
Sorkins genius was in making it look like he was hiding his views, he just made the show more liberal and at the same time more subtle.
The new main guy is pretty much also a liberal, he was the executive producer of the show, and was the driving force behind E.R.

The only Sorkin-affiliated production I ever enjoyed was "A Few Good Men." I HATED that sports show he did with the guy from Dead Poets Society (Josh something-or-other) and thought the "Left Wing" was so-so when it started (the first two episodes) but dropped off shortly thereafter.

Are you familiar with the adverts and sponsors during Law and Order also? ( or as I like to call it "Long and Boring", no personal slight intended)

"Becker" is drop dead funny. Moving it from Monday night, I think, to Sunday night killed it for me. I'm in church on Sunday nights. Too bad. It is one of the funniest shows on the air. It is simply about a chain smoking doctor who doesn't know how to talk to women but can work with the pains his patients have. Give it a try if it comes back on. Maybe the libs wanted it axed because Becker smoked tobacco. If he was smoking pot it would have been a can't miss hit.

It is NOT a political correct show, just the opposite and that what makes it so intiguing. Danson the archliberal, saying and doing things he would probably be against in real life.

The only thing I'm going to miss is Buffy, The Vampire Slayer.
Birds of Prey was pretty good but I think they gave too much away in the last episodes. The secret identities were pretty much a bust.

I admire that degree of conviction.
But the best, and only real way to get your point across is to make your disdain for liberal soapbox preaching known to the sponsers of the show.
Unless your a Nielson family know one will ever know that your watching or not watching in protest.

Unless your a Nielson family know one will ever know that your watching or not watching in protest.Well, I finished a degree in Economics. And, though a lot of people "pooh-pooh" it, there is a subtle beauty to the underlying principles of economics, i.e., buyer behavior being the ultimate driver of economic forces- whether it is on a local or international scale.
I, like millions of other Americans, vote with my check-book. Some recent examples are the "Ditzy Chicks," Alec Baldwin (when was the last time you saw him in a movie of any kind?), or either Tim Robbins/Susan Sarandon (same as Alec Baldwin) ???
The bottom line is that when they flap their lips, millions of Americans actively shun them. Their sponsors don't get paid, so they don't get paid... And their careers go down the toilet.
Personally, I think it's quite fitting.
Anyway, it does matter whether you watch or not, buy or not... Regardless of whether you're a Nielson family or not... Because it does NOT matter what the Nielson ratings come out to... What ultimately matters- and what they are driven by- is your money. If you refuse to spend it on a commie-pinko-piece of trash like Alec Baldwin....? Then he's out of a JOB.
