I hope it's him. This arrest was something I thought that we would never see. I thought that he was dead.

Now to hunt down the terrorists who've been harboring him all these years.

I thought he was either dead or in Europe. I didn't expect them to catch him--IF it is him.

No one admirers a murderer I hope. I think it was his brut survival skills that amazed a lot of folks. Also, this came in the aftermath of Jewell´s (sp?) arrest and phony trumped up charges. There was not too much sympathy for those representing the law at that time. Also, we don´t know if Eric Rudolph was really the bomber. If he was, he will pay.

I thought it likely he was dead, too. No confirmation yet..

CNN had a huge jump on FOXNews and MSNBC with the breaking news of this capture. A long stretch before either got it on the air, and the homeless guy, suspected of being Olympic Park bomber, Eric Rudolph, was captured last night.
But give it to CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, for them, it's a local story.
Wonder who will be first to interview Richard Jewel???? Bet it won't be the Atlanta Journal, CNN, or NBC. LOL
PUKE TIME!!! MSNBC has gone with a phone interview with their resident expert on life itself, Clint van Zandt. That man makes me sick to my stomach!!

And here I thought you were the one who cracked the case! :o)
To: Oberon
IF this is the guy that did it. It remains to be proven at trial.
I'm not a Rudolph apologist, but I'm a huge fan of due process.
Couldn't agree with you more................
but........................
Do you really think "due process" will matter in this "case"?

CNN is now interviewing Emily Lyons.
This is a local story--CNN picked it up from the local news, I do believe.
There will be a press conference at some time today.

The ones who helped him will be very difficult to nail unless someone talks.

I want them to dot every "i" and cross every "t" in the legal system, no matter how long it takes.

I was sure he was in Mexico, Brazil any Country thousands of miles away.
If he is guilty he deserves whatever is meted out. But after the Richard Jewel debacle, I want to see the evidence.

This guy has been hiding for 5 or 6 years in the USA where the folks looking for him are not getting shot at, where at least the local police and sheriffs have some knowledge of the terrain, and where they know the language. Folks are complaining that we haven't yet caught bin Laden when we have to look in sevaral foreign countries, where we have no knowledge of the terrain, where we do not know the languages, and where we are often getting shot at.
Folks ought to give the Bush people at least as much time to find bin Laden and they gave Clinton and Bush to find Rudolph.

from CNN:
"Cherokee County Sheriff Keith Lovin confirmed a deputy arrested a man believed to Rudolph without a struggle after he was found behind a business in the western North Carolina town of Murphy. The sheriff said the man appeared to be homeless.
Deputies are waiting for fingerprint information for a positive confirmation of the man's identity. FBI agents are on their way to the scene.
Rudolph, now 36, has eluded law officers for years. He was first listed on the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted List" when his pick-up truck was found abandoned near the scene of the bombing of a Birmingham, Alabama, women's clinic on January 29, 1998. A police officer was killed and a nurse was seriously injured in that blast.
Rudolph also was wanted in connection with the July 1996 bombing at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. An Albany, Georgia, woman was killed and more than 100 people were hurt.
He was also being sought for the double bombing outside a suburban Atlanta women's clinic in January 1997 and another at a gay nightclub in February 1997. There were several injuries in the incidents, but no one was killed.
Federal investigators have long believed Rudolph was hiding in the Nantahala National Forest of western North Carolina where he spent his teenage and young adult years.
The Southeast Bomb Task Force -- formed to investigate the bombings -- kept a presence in the area, at times with as many as 200 federal agents combing a 500,000 acre mountainous and heavily-wooded area."

"If Rudolph is found guilty, throw the book at him." I won't disagree with this, but let's hope that IF it proves to be Eric Rudolph, he will at least receive a fair trial. He is innocent until proven guilty. I suspect that he is not guilty of all the crimes Janet Reno's Justice Department accused him of committing, if any. Just remember two words: Richard Jewell.

Was Jewell charged?

The Atlanta Journal was the main culprit in the Jewell accusation. They paid for it.Is there any wonder that journalism scores at the bottom of polls imquiring as to the respectability of professions - even beneath politicians?

I have a correction: There have probably been hundreds, or thousands, killed at the abortion clinic. Not by Eric Rudolph, either.
