I've been asked to start a prayer thread for Joel Kernodle. He was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Memorial Day weekend as he returned from visiting fellow veterans in West Virginia.
Joel, known as PointManHerc, was the inspiration for the Patriots Rally for America III held in 9 degree weather on the morning of January 18 this year in Washington, D.C. He and his group of veterans, MOVEOUT, came to our nation's capital to stand up against the communist-led anti-war demonstration that day. They were doing for those serving now what wasn't done for them when they served in Vietnam.
Here is a message I received tonight about Joel's condition: His wife and a couple of bro's made it to him and apparently he was conscious for awhile and gave Marla's hand a squeeze. Docs say tonight is going to be an extremely rough and decisive one. Trying to get as many folks praying for him as we can.
Thanks for the ping for prayers
Joel had spent Memorial Day weekend with combat bro's who belong to a reclusive group of combat veterans. They'd gathered at 1bn27's plantation in Matthews Virginia, and Joel was returning to Indianna from there. He had planned to go about halfway before resting. He was riding a first of the line Indian Chief, btw. A motorist around Charleston, WestbyGod, Virginia, found Joel on the side of the road. He wasn't apparently breathing. There is no word on how long he'd been there. The motorist took him to the hospital. Initial reports are of a torn liver, kidney, spleen, broken ribs and chestplate and breathing via respirator. One of the other bros, also returning from the gathering to Ohio, diverted and fetched Joel's wife Marla and went lickitysplit to Charleston. Joel wakened long enough to squeeze Marla's hand, which is encouraging, however the doctors say tonight is going to be the real challenge. Joel never refused to stand up, his goal is always to give and not to recieve. Please pray for Joel, our Pointman. Where my tagline sez 3/1 India, 3rd, 0311, 68-69, Joel's would read /1 India, 3rd, 0311, 66-67. Thank you.
Y'know, I could be wrong, but I don't believe that Joel had an account here.
Joel was delighted at the FReeper help, dang, for the FReeper folks allowing the MOVEOUT folks to help with your counterprotest. He was very grateful, while at the same time many veteran's groups turned their backs on him. Some who could have supported him, didn't, and that stung him.
He found what we've all know for awhile; DC FReepers are absolutely awesome!
