Department of Peace Legislation introduced--USEFUL IDIOT ALERT!!!
Arizona Republic ^ | 5/27/2003 | Carlos Pimental

Posted on 05/28/2003 8:22:11 AM PDT by RooRoobird14

Apologies to John Lennon, but all they're saying is that we should give the Department of Peace a chance.

The Department of Peace would be created by legislation sponsored by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, an Ohio Democrat and presidential hopeful.........

This Cabinet-level department, with a secretary of peace, would stress conflict resolution.

Domestically, the peace secretary would, after appropriate federal agencies are merged, tackle such issues as domestic violence, child abuse, gang violence, drug abuse and civil rights.

Internationally, the secretary's duties would include dealing with human rights, the proliferation of arms (including weapons sold by the United States) and generally stopping wars long before they start.

O. Carlos Pimentel is a local example of how affirmative action results in incompetence and mediocrity being rewarded.

Like all good sh*t-for-brains leftists, he's enraptured with the idea of a new "Department of Peace" which would tell the DOD when they could go to war, would stop bullying in schoolyards, and prevent animal abuse (Not making this up!!!)

If this crap is implemented it will be the last nail in the coffin of freedom.

I hope the sponsors of this nonsense die from ebola.

No, this is for real. I've even seen Kucinich talk about his wonderful idea of a "Department of Peace."

Unfortunately, Carlos Pimental is for real, also. At least he isn't whining about his skin color and how horrible "The Blue Eyed Devil" is--that's what his columns consist of 99.9% of the time.

Memo to Carlos Pimental and Dennis Kucinich:

We already have a Department of Peace. It's run by Donald Rumsfeld.

Follow the money trail and I'd bet the farm that the IACenter is bankrolling this one...and for those of you that don't know--that brings the WWP communists into a cabinet position.

I thought this was the job of the diplomatic corps and Mr. Powell--to TRY to prevent war.

"We already have a Department of Peace. It's run by Donald Rumsfeld."

Good point. Maybe we can just rename the DoD: "Department of Defense and Peace". After all, they renamed it from the War Dept. to Defense back a while ago.

That should take care of it.

But I am sure that is not what Kucinich has in mind, he wants to have an official US anti-war department, to oppose everything we try to do to defend ourselves. I don't think it will fly. But I don't understand how could it even get as far as being introduced as a bill. Don't those things have to getsome initial support to do that?

"...the peace secretary would ... tackle such issues as domestic violence, child abuse, gang violence, drug abuse and civil rights."

The left thinks the federal government should be everyone's mama. The wrongs on this list should be, and already are, addressed at the state and local level. This is the concept of our federal constitution. Civil rights were made federal matters by the 14 & 15 Amendments, but even those wrongs are covered by state laws now.

My point is, don't look to the federal government to solve every problem. This Dept. of Peace would just be another money waster. On the international level, if you want peace, prepare for war.

I would prefer reverting to a Department of War and dropping the Department of Defense. Creeping PC apparntly started in the 40's

War is the natural condition. Peace is the anomaly.

Not just silly but probably unconstitutional to create a department in the Executive branch with the declared purpose of meddling into the decisions of the Legislative branch.

This has been a Kucinich hobby-horse for a while.

Let's meet him halfway and just rename the Department and Defense.

The "Renaissance" group mentioned in the article is the same group of ultra leftist limousine liberals who gather at Hilton Head Island every New Year's to have their Clymer Summit. This group is a major driving force behind this ludicrous Department of Peace idea.

These "Renaissance" leftists should just admit that the main activity at their "summits" each year is coke-snorting, wife-swapping and group sex.

...Which is why Mr. and Mrs. Rapist from Arkansas faithfully attend every year.....
