Freep this poll on the need to import more cheap labor
GOPUSA.com ^ | 5/26/03

Posted on 05/26/2003 11:40:45 AM PDT by Tancredo Fan

GOPUSA.com poll asks if bringing in more foreign guest workers is a good idea. There are two polls at the page; this particular poll is on the right hand side....

http://gopusa.com/arizona

We're in a recession, we've losts hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs, and jerks like Kolbe think we need these so-called 'guest workers'. The aren't guests, and they don't go home.

Tax paying guest workers who spend money here vs offshore workers who simply take jobs.

I didn't see an accompanying story about the guest worker program but your complaint about the loss of thousands of jobs impelled me to vote "Strongly approve".

Working in the landscaping business, I strongly rely on Mexicans workers because they are about the only people who are willing to work all day long in the heat and get themselves dirty without crying like little babies. And they know how to make a lawn look pretty.

Americans want it both ways. They want people to be paid 20 bucks an hour for the most menial of jobs, but then they don't want to pay 10 bucks for a head of lettuce.

You don't want guest workers? Start your own business and hire a bunch of tattooed, spiky-haired, nose-ringed, maggot-infested crybabies and pay them 20 bucks an hour. But don't make me hire them when there are plenty of others out there who are willing to do the work.

After they enter the country legally, they can still work for peanuts if they want to....we either believe in operating legally or we don't.

Awwwwwww....how white of you to be concerned about what I pay my employees. I'm sure they will be touched by your compassion.

As I said, the poll was not accompanied by an article so I don't know that "guest workers" are in fact illegals. Therefore, I voted "Strongly approve."

If you were to just move some place nice like Cambodia or Ghana think of how low your labor costs would be.

Nice to know some Americans will sell their country out for nice lawns. At least Judas got 40 pieces of silver.

How much does your "cheap" labor cost the American taxpayer? Seems like you are a socialist at heart - you believe in redistribution of the property of others to your pocket.

Hah? How do you know it does? As I have said in every reply, the poll is not accompanied by a story (why can't anybody grasp this?) so how do you know it is referring to illegal workers? And besides, when you start factoring in worker's comp, disability, insurance, and everything else, the labor isn't very cheap at all.

Seems like you are a socialist at heart - you believe in redistribution of the property of others to your pocket.

It does ? ? ? ? IT DOES ? ? ? The only thing I want to do with other people's property is mow it, edge it, get rid of its weeds and trim its trees. That makes me a Socialist? ? ?

ROTFL...this is like the informal tally I did here in February.

3% Strongly Approve

3% Approve

0% Indifferent

5% Disapprove

87% Strongly Disapprove

(I guess an awful lot of people must be willing to mow their own lawns)

I keep saying it...Tancredo finds someone as clean as he is, with great appeal to the masses who don't bother voting, and maybe can't find decent jobs, he wins a plurality in most states.

Especially if it is emphasized that immigrants we don't need to fill jobs are bad for the environment. Save a tree, send home an illegal, or whatever.

Oops.....that last sentence should've read, "The fact that I expect to get paid for it makes me a Socialist ? ? ? ?"

Yeah, and some of those lawns look about as good as a self-done haircut.
