Um, the Sens are in no way 'Chretin's team'. The Sens have effectivly been screwed financially by every level of government but have carried on playing thier hearts out even when the team's financial problems delayed their heavily taxed and smaller than average (for the NHL) paychecks.

It was sad to see them lose after all they endured just to get there, but that's how it goes. Congrats to NJ, they earned it and it was nice to see good clean hockey from both teams.

And in case you didn't know, NJ has Canadians on their team.

In addition, Ottawa was playing for Lord Stanley's cup 100 ago-before there even was an NHL. They would have been acceptable to me.

Great game tonight. Especially the comical final minute when Sergei Brylin got tangled up with the linesman and an Ottawa player on the bench reached out and grabbed him to keep him from heading toward the empty net with the puck.

If Ottawa had tied the score after that, I would have been perched on a bridge talking to a police suicide prevention counselor.

As a hockey fan, this Ottawa team scares the heck out of me. They are very good, and very young, too -- so they'll be good for a long time if they can keep their core players. I think their oldest player is the goaltender, Lalime -- he's 27.

What's really nice is that they are fully a part of the community here. They all do lots of charity work and are down to earth guys. Fan loyalty is rooted on what they do both on and off the ice.

Saturday night one of the NJ Devils who owns a home in my town had the Stanley Cup, and I got to drink beer from the STANLEY CUP!!!!!!
