WASHINGTON, May 23 — Following House approval overnight, the Senate on Friday passed a tax-cut bill that will mean fatter paychecks for many workers as of July 1 and include $400 refunds for each child in a family. Vice President Dick Cheney cast the deciding vote after the Senate was deadlocked at 50-50.

I am not wealthy - no, not anywhere close to it and YES, I will be looking forward to receiving up to $800 in the mail for my 2 kids and the help I'll get in my paycheck starting in July when they take out 4% less until the end of this year! I hear ya!! I heard today that people who make under $30k think they will be getting some of that child tax credit but will not get the $$$. Only those who make over $30k. Anyone else hear this?

This may be true. If you go out to the link and read the article the line that PI$$ES me off the most is about low income families not receiving $$$ at all. NO $HITE!!!! THEY DONT PAY INCOME TAXES!!!!!! SO WHY SHOULD THEY GET A REFUND THIS IS NOT WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION MSNBC!!!!!

The article left out the 15-10% tax reduction bit. It does appear in other articles though. Part of that is in effect already. Check the difference in your 2001 & 2002 tax packages.

Remarkable, when you consider that 50% of the American Public contribute LESS THAN 4% of the income tax collected, that the majority still want to lower taxes!

Let's just think about the poll though. If I were a Dem, I'd say we didn't need a tax cut becuase it simply isn't going to take the money out of my pocket. Now do you think any of those folks are going to volunteer the money they will receive. The poll is absolutely "non productive" at this time except for the spinners library!!
