BTW just 'cause I've been beating your ass like a drum for 3 days there's no valid excuse for denegrating my son. He'll go for it though. He fought tooth and nail against reason for a week and was proved completely wrong. All he has left is pathetic insults.

Actually anyone who makes the cut still has a chance of winning -- not a great one but a chance -- and at least 3 of the exemptions will have that chance. Not to nit-pick

This is the only event she's really got a shot at. Second time around won't be nearly the press boom, also less pressure.

There's the reason Kuehne didn't get an invite. Yeah, that makes sense. -not

I have it on good authority that they both claim that they've never lost a game of solitaire. :) Cedric's son actually plays "corner of the dogleg solitaire" and presidio9 knows for a fact that Tiger Woods uses a .5-iron when he plays solitaire.

I already got one of your spare accounts banned, I don't want to hog all the fun.

IMHO the primary reason the PGA was pushing for this was to take pressure off the lady that's gonna be at GHO, she "qualified" from the women's tee (that one I think is totally F'd up, qualify straight or get a clean exemption, qualifying modified is wrong) and she's gonna get smoked. By moving the media frenzy to this one (and on a better female golfer) she won't be under nearly as much scrutiny. We have a winner. There are 3 courses between now and the Greater Hartford Open that are shorter, but they would ocnflict with bigger LPGA events (including the Women's Open).

I should solid logic why Woods would do exactly that. Just as earlier in the week, when I showed solid logic on why AS did not belong out there. In neither case did you even attempt to rebut me. All you had was weak insults. On the later, I guess we know now who is right and who is wrong.

Second time around won't be nearly the press boom, also less pressure Great players play well under pressure. They rise to the occasion.

I find it hard to believe that anyone who seriously follows golf gave her even an outside chance to make the cut.
Nothing more to see here. Move along folks. Show is over.

You're the one (with his head in Hank's lap) saying that exemptions should go to men who need them. He didn't need an exemption to get his card.

Ya know what's really great? Several days ago, when this all began I was battling alone against the sadly uninformed and deluded {actually, there was one other stalwart ally - was it you?}. Anyway, by last night my point of view was actually predominant on one thread. As reality has overtaken the wishful thinkers they have, indeed, become agressively vitiolic. Such is the price of victory!

And if they were too close together the media attention would just switch over clean and it would be even worse for her, especially if the press didn't have to travel.
Not to belittle Sorenstam's accomplishment, but we must remember that nothing happens in a vacuum. There's a reason somebody chose right now to do this and not a year ago or a year later.

He fought tooth and nail against reason for a week There you go again. Another lie. I just started posting on the Annika story on the 19th - by telling Cedric that he was wrong about "Oh, and by the way, every one of them could beat Annika with just a 5 iron and a putter!".
And I was right. **smug grin**
To: discostu
I think she did all right. Not at the bottom of the pack, had a shot at the cut. What fantasy are you watching. She is currently ahead of 11 players. She will miss the cut by at least 4 strokes.
Personally, I am impressed that she did as well as she did, but she did finish at the bottom of the pack, and she never threatened the cut. This reminds me of yesterday when she was -1 after nine, and you started speculating. It was a clear sign that you had no idea of what you were talking about.

Given that every aspect of the PGA is harder than the LPGA I think she did alright. She didn't finish back of the pack so it can be honestly said she performed up ot the level of the men. Could she have done better? Yes, but she's one of over 100 people that are going to be in that boat Sunday (only the winner can claim no room for improvement... and even then if he's honest I garauntee there's at least one stroke he'd do differently).

Or if, say, Tiger were there.
IMHO, Annika would have done decently at the GMO versus par (shortest course, "par" 71), but even with the complete lack of names resting up for the British Open the following week, the fact that Brown Deer yearly threatens to give somebody a 60 would ruin the desired effect. It's also a week after the Women's Open.

In neither case did you even attempt to rebut me. I wouldn't waste my time rebutting someone who claimed the moon was made of green cheese, either...
