...she wanted to see how she would do against the worlds best. She has proven, so far, what everyone thought and predicted...a star on the LPGA, a mediocre player among the PGA playing field. Extremists on both ends will claim victory. Those that didn't want to see her play will say that she didn't make the cut so she didn't cut the mustard, and, others will say she has proven she can play with the big boys. Both will be wrong.
One, plenty of touring pros have the ability to qualify but not make the cut week after week..if at all. A that puts her in the category of being good enough but not truly competitive.
Two, this is one of the shortest courses on the tour. If all she can do is play par here, she will be lost on the 7200 yard courses. Where driving distance is important, even the men she passes today will outscore her.

The coverage that this tourney has received in the past week is worth it's weight in gold for the sponsor. You got it, Tom. I said last week that it was a marketing decision.
It's to their credit, BTW, that they got somebody who can do a creditable job.

What specific did I say that you think is baloney?
To: colorado tanker
Yours is a good observation. She's the Tiger Woods of the LPGA. Extremely competitive and looking for a challenge.
When I was a kid, I ALWAYS wanted to play football with the boys. At one point, probably 11 or 12, I even begged my mom to buy me a football uniform, complete with all the pads and helmet so I could play tackle football. Who was harmed by that?

say that she didn't make the cut
That has far from been determined yet.

9th (par 4, 402 yds): On the fairway, approach is on the fringe outside of the green.
To: William McKinley
If she makes the cut, that group will be very quiet...heheh.

This oughta be fun, let us know how close she chips it on her 3rd shot. Given the debate here some will say a 20 footer is a gimme others will say it's a 25% shot.

She was the top of her threesome
To: 1Old Pro
The fringe is a downhill roll to the green, so she's using the putter

Wanna bet? They'll be trashing her in every round. Never mind that she's not been in the rough once so far, nor in a bunker. She's putting in a really nice credible day, while under tons of pressure. My guess is that she's not only going to make the cut, but is going to end up the tourney under par. She's not going to win, but I don't think she planned on that. Good job!

3 ft wise right, 4 ft putt for par

O.K., the "fringe" is the first cut

To: Teacher317
Missed it. As I was saying, she faded late. Hope she rests up for tomorrow, she'll need all her stamina on the back nine.
To: numberonepal
