I wonder what Clay's target demographic ill be? He seems like a guy who could do Broadway musical theatre playing the geeky parts like in 'Little Shop of Horrors'

I worked for a company once that sold a product through an 800-number. ATT told my boss that they could monitor how many ATTEMPTS were made to get through, if all available lines were busy. That way, he could know how many people attempted to buy the product but were unable to get through.
I believe that this service can be purcahsed, as an add-on, by anyone who has an 800 (or toll-free) line. I think some radio talk shows monitor how many attempts to get through were logged, as a way of proving how large their audience is.
If that is the case, I only wish the producers of AI had done that, because, just myself alone, I dialed that number at least 100 times last night in my efforts to vote for Clay---only getting through 3 times.
I have to wonder how many Clay votes got deflected due to people unable to get through.....

Clay!! Clay! I picked Clay the first time he sang. I was shocked when he was bumped. But I am not shocked he got back in the game because that young man has talent.

I can honestly say......that for all those in Raliegh who could NOT get in.....I've got you covered! I had almost an open line for the last hour and fifteen minutes. I voted.....often......for CLAY!

As usual, I'm alone in the Ruben corner.

I agree with you on the over vocalizing. It seemed like, with Bridge, he finally had it dawn on him that less is sometimes more, and that by not trying to decorate every note, he made the crescendos all that more impressive.

It was that red hair. Now that he has the brown, highlighted hair, his face doesn't look so narrow toward the chin.
To: pbear8
Yes, I do.....but I wondered if those in "other time zones" would want me to do that????

I didn't know that they could monitor attempts.
I wonder how they monitor and deal with auto-dial block voting. They are supposed to have taken care of that but I wonder how.

Prior to this seasons American Idol I would have agreed with you. I started watching just for laughs, but was hooked immediately. I haven't looked forward to a TV show this much since Dallas.

One amazing thing with that is that all three of them came from the same grouping originally. Clay actually got eliminated (Reuben and Kimbery Locke winning the group) only to be brought back by one of the judges (Simon, I think).

Good Grief - I meant it as a joke.
I'm truly sorry I said anything.

Also, I did quite a bit of reading on other sites today on how there is an pro-Ruben anti-Clay cabal that is denying him his prize.
And I thought only DU was paranoid! hehe

I heard last year someone hooked up a computer to vote for the punk rock girl who made it to the final 3 and voted like 30,000 times
