I worked for a company once that sold a product through an 800-number. ATT told my boss that they could monitor how many ATTEMPTS were made to get through, if all available lines were busy. That way, he could know how many people attempted to buy the product but were unable to get through.
I believe that this service can be purcahsed, as an add-on, by anyone who has an 800 (or toll-free) line. I think some radio talk shows monitor how many attempts to get through were logged, as a way of proving how large their audience is.
If that is the case, I only wish the producers of AI had done that, because, just myself alone, I dialed that number at least 100 times last night in my efforts to vote for Clay---only getting through 3 times.
I have to wonder how many Clay votes got deflected due to people unable to get through.....

I didn't know that they could monitor attempts.
I wonder how they monitor and deal with auto-dial block voting. They are supposed to have taken care of that but I wonder how.
