They didn't do it like this last season. It was straight up at the end of the show.

or does Ruben sound a little "raspy" lately??Maybe that's the effect I have heard lately - I almost want to turn on the 'noise gate' here in the studio and trim that out ...

Did you know that Cass Elliott didn't die from choking? That's just a myth...
When Clay, Ruben and Kimberly Locke sing together, it's like angels.
Add the others and it's a nightmare!

I agree, Kimberly should have been in the finals against Clay. I probably would have still voted for Clay but she really does have a good voice and I think she was definitely the most improved.

Every group number reminds of why most of them were voted off.

Is it just me or does Clay seem a little bit fruity to anybody else? I tried voting for Rueben last night but I was not able to get through. I kept on pressing the redial button over and over and that just didn't work and then I tried calling the number a few times sporadically for the next few hours, but in the end I was not able to get a call in.

I agree. Ruben is raspy and off-key tonight. He's good. He's nice. He's over-rated, imo.
I don't like how they backlight Clay. Makes him look bleached out and awful at times -- especially in the second song he sang last night.
Flashback to earlier: I kinda wondered if maybe Kelly was wearing Clay's red leather jacket that they kidded him about.
Anybody else notice that for a skinny little guy, Clay sure has big feet? ;)

Enlighten us...even though I'm not sure I care :^)
To: Howlin
A tie -- well, lots of people would be OK with that, myself included. I was for Ruben until a couple of weeks ago, when he began to sound "raspy" to me... Then I switched to Clay. Maybe it's just too much practice, practice, practice...

Hey there, ecurbh! I've wandered free of the Hobbit Hole! :)

I can feel Karen Carpenter spinning in her grave. Ruben is singing the Luther Vandross version of Superstar which is more bluesy but definitely less haunting than Karen Carpenter's version -- both of which versions I really enjoy.
