If this is confined to the mailroom, than i think we can assume it wasnt a large explosion.

This Memorial Day may be one to remember. I hope not.

I'm not an explosion expert, but I think an exploding boiler is pretty easy to pinpoint as a cause.
I would just look for the lack of boiler where the boiler used to be. 8-)

This will have an impact on how Yale "students" and "instructors" view the war on terror, I'm sure. Not likely. They'll blame the republicans for it just like they blame the republicans for everything else.

the brunette is certainly cuter in this pic... but still only a "7" or thereabouts.

Still, it does seem a little low rent for al Qaeda. It wouldn't be 'low rent' to spread such devices like mustard seeds all over the country . . . . just a thought.

You know, it appears to have been a powerful bomb. SOMETHING like half-liter of alcohol or gasoline well-mixed into the atmosphere in the room sufficient to blow-out some windows?
OR - were concrete walls 'buckled' out ?

This could be homegrown. If it is AQ, there may be more on the way. It's rush-hour here on the east coast.
I'm really glad to hear no one was hurt.
Any by the way, I like Jenna...

Terry McAuliffe will say the bomb was caused by the tax cuts for the rich!

"Anyone know the whereabouts of Dr. Stephan Hatfill? Maybe the FBI can pin this one on him too."
Yeah, I saw him jump in front of one of the firetrucks hoping to get a crushed vertabrae to match his crushed foot.

Im confused, the semester is over and they are targeting classrooms?School newspaper editor says exams WERE taking place.
To: Semper Paratus
"Right, international terror hit would have taken out a whole building, packed with people." This is assuming that the target was Yale Law School (and that it wasn't an outgoing package). If the package was outgoing, it could have been addressed to a much smaller building, which would have taken out the whole infrastructure, packed with people.
To: Shermy
That link reminds me that the main mail room in Yale Law School is not the one in the basement, but on the first floor. That would put it above the student lounge in the basement (if those rooms remain in the same places despite the renovation that another poster mentioned). So if the two rooms damaged are the mail room and the student lounge, that would make sense.

AND just what ARE the stats for 'bombs'/explosions at schools?
Actually the worst incident of school violence in the country's history was a school in Michigan blown up in 1927, killing 44 kids, by a local nutjob who was treasurer of the school board and was upset by increases in local taxes. Not all the explosives went off or it would have been worse.

It's only symbolic if we get it, and are heart-broken of it.As I said, I have no idea who did it and I would tend not to think terrorism. Did you really care about the WTC or the thousands of people inside? bin Laden himself didn't expect that result, the point was to attack the symbols of capitalism and economic standing. The Ivy League schools are symbolic too.

I like them both. In fact, I thought she dealt with her broken dress strap at the inauguration with aplomb! Such a pro! I just don't like her "look". Hopefully, she will grow out of it. She is still a young one.

I think it is unlikely this was a boiler. YOU'RE missing my point -
- What are the stats for BOMBS and EXPLOSIONS at SCHOOLS across the US an on annual basis ...
