Which means that every time you make a long distance call, you help...

Expose corporate polluters around the world
provide emergency aid to victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and natural disasters
You can also make free calls to politicians and corporate fat cats!

I'd like to know a little bit more about how this works so I'm not unintentionally contributing to, say, the Ruckus Society.

The creative hellraisers at Ruckus and some of our closest allies have been working around the clock to bring you the War Profiteers Card Deck. Now you can learn about the world's inner circle of modern day Conquistadors without missing your Friday night poker game.
War Profiteers Card DeckThe WarProfiteers deck exposes some of the real war criminals in the US's endless War of Terror. This is no Sunday bridge club. These are individuals and institutions that stack the deck against democracy in the rigged game of global power. Exposing their place in the house of cards illuminates the links among corporations, institutions, and government officials that profit from endless war. The US War of Terror is not about liberation, democracy, or UN resolutions. Plainly put, the War of Terror--whether in Iraq, Colombia, Afghanistan, or the USA--is about subjugation, resource extraction, and opening markets: a practice once referred to more honestly as colonialism.
Take It To The Streets!
George Bush and his cronies from Bechtel, Haliburton, Exxon, and the Carlyle Group (to name just a few) have now begun the "Corporate Invasion" of Iraq.
Please take to the streets in nonviolent opposition as these psychopaths get their new "war on". Our show of creative resistance to our government's actions has never been more important.
Let's prove that you don't have to kill to fight for your country!

The banner was donated to Ruckus by friends from the La Mitzvah Collective in Colorado.

Oh, boy! What will PETA say with the 12 free pints of ice cream per year? Won't that add an undue burden to the poor beasts?

the same carrier will do the same thing for conservative causes probably. With one plan they support handgun control with tthe other hand they support the NRA.

Working Assets is one of those "socially responsible" mutual fund outfits and has been around for some time. They cater to people who desperately want to invest in something, but who cannot cope with the concept of funding capitalist enterprises. Funds like this deal with their white liberal guilt by investing in companies that are closed union shops, practice heavy-duty affirmative action, etc.

Oh sure. I've managed to sell the Tupperware at two garage sales. And the Flowbee I got for our wedding night (you do remember that, don't you???), that's gone too. The trailer park is using it to mow their lawns. At least something good came out of it. Oh, and by the way...here's a picture of our love child. You'll notice he's not eating "Cherry Garcia"... I've signed the divorce papers. You're free, free as a bird to spend your days and nights throwing my support checks away eating free samples from your leftist friends. Just know this...as long as I'm drawing breath, little Zoltan will get his protein fix somewhere else. |

"Working Assets" is not any sort of investment vehicle.
They simply buy long distance time in bulk, sell it
back at retail, and donate 5% of the profit to the
left-wing groups listed above.
They've been at it for almost 10 years now and they've
been very successful.
I've always wished someone would do something similar
on the conservative side, but it's just never happened.
Give them credit, it's a great idea.
