Hmmmm. Poor Howell. This isn't going to go away, is it?
Pity.
To: Liz
LOL. I was going to kill myself but decided to write a book instead.
To: Liz
oh, please.

I'm sure he'll find a way to blame the President for it.

Good for him. He messed up at his job at the NYT, but if he's got it in him to write a book that others may want to read, more power to him. I certainly won't begrudge him that.

Right...a book with a six or seven figure advance.
The NYC publishing business is a cesspool.

Poor Howell. This isn't going to go away..... Howell's trying hard to keep the Times staff amused.

I wonder whose work Mr. Blair will plagiarize for his book...
Perhaps the publisher could also have a competition for literary fans - figure out whose work is contained in Blair's book and win a prize.

Since I said I wanted to see a movie about him earlier, I'd offer this self-interested advice:
Drop the focus on race. Saying it was about "race" won't fly well in light of the charges of rampant falsifications. Think more an urban office comedy about a young man rising in the world, competitive egos, overwork, hypocrisy of the bosses, childish office politics, office affairs. Tearing down idols should be a theme.
More like Tom Wolfe, say something like Bonfire of the Vanities. Less affirmative action-guilt liberal appeal.

Two weeks ago I posted this guy was high on drugs to so recklessly concoct and spread such fabrications ....and I was right.

If they're all so brilliant and I'm such an affirmative action hire, how come they didn't they catch me?" Am I missing something here?

The excuses begin!
Before it is over he will most likely be awarded the Pulitzer for fiction!

And I didn't think this story could nauseate me any further.Nauseate you? Why, I'm having the time of my life reading this stuff.
First CNN, now the NYT. It doesn't get much better than this.
I'm hoping for MORE liars at the NYT!
