[history]
By resigning, Lopez ended a tumultuous three-year battle to salvage her judicial career, opting for a far harsher punishment than the six-month suspension recommended by E. George Daher, retired chief judge of the Housing Court, while ignoring Daher's other recommendation, that she apologize for her conduct on the bench.

Lopez's resignation, submitted by her lawyers because she was in her native Cuba on a legal and cultural exchange program, was effective at 3 p.m. yesterday. I'm sure Oliver Stone is buying her a latte and mojito as I type. She was a scumbag that couldn't admit she was wrong. Good riddance, I hope she stays in Cuba. We don't want her.

...ended a ''distinguished career'' in public service.God save us from this kind of "distinguished career" and public service. Sounds like she's a legend in her own mind.

3 years for her to do the right thing. And they have so many others on the bench who are more aggregious than she.

That would be my guess too. I would have thought that the reporter would have covered this angle.

There is very little in the way of accountability in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts, it is probably the nearest state to pure Socialism that there is.

Well her career was certainly
distinguished my misbehavior.
What a record:
poverty lawyer
appointed by Dukakis (of Willie Horton's parole fame)
consistenly hostile to the prosecution
lets a pedophile off basically scot-free
quits rather than apologize
is off in Cuba (in cahoots with Castro and his Commies?)
I say disbar the person for unethical conduct on the bench.
